The success of his role in the Traveling Wilburys gave him a much-deserved boost. Orbison had the great voice of pop and after many years of indifferent material he finally hit gold with great songs such as 'You Got It' (written with Lynne and Petty), 'Careless Heart' (written with Diane Warren) and 'A Love So Beautiful' (written with Lynne). Orbison's tragic dedication to us when he finished this album was 'don't give up before the miracle happens'.

A Great Album From A Historic Artist

Created: 03/03/09
I bought this album after listening to the Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 on Ruckus. I really didn't have much experience of listening to Roy (I was only 2 when he passed away). The songs are absolutely great on it - Roy has a great sense of melody and one of the best voices for telling a story in rock-n-roll. Some of the songs are not as "glistening" as others, but I am a big fan of most of the tracks.

"You Got It" is probably the best song for brightening up a bad day for me (and having Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty help you on writing it doesn't hurt!). The obvious signs of Wilbury intervention are evident in Mystery Girl (a lot of contributions from George Harrison, Lynne, Petty, and Bob Dylan). Also, the title track "She's A Mystery To Me" is one of the true new-age rock songs. (God only knows about what an Orbison/U2 collaboration could do today!)

Anyways, overall, I can't really give you an idea what this album is like until you buy it. If you are an Orbison fan, this album is a must-have, no matter what the price. If you are a person who just likes restful but sufficiently energetic music, this is a great album to have. Plus, if you just want to hear someone who sings from the heart, Mystery Girl is just too irresistible to have!

Buy this CD ! ! !

If you like Roy Orbison, then by all means you should get this CD. The second track, IN THE REAL WORLD is one of the most beautiful songs you'll ever hear in your life. This was Roy's last album and it shines like a diamond as a crowning jewel on top of his Iconic, Legendary career. Produced with love and respect by fellow Traveling Wilbury Jeff Lynne and featuring three songs co-writen by his Wilbury brothers Jeff Lynne, George Harrison, and Tom Petty. It's upbeat, timeless, stylish, and haunting all at the same time. Like so many of us, Roy left this world too early but, at least he left us a beautiful piece of musical majesty to enjoy and reflect upon, and I think, find a moment or two of serenity. Thanks Roy.

Last Album before Orbisons death!

Created: 16/07/08
I love Roy Orbisons four octive range voice! He sounds like an angel when he sings even though he is a big man! I just love his song Shes A Mystery To Me and Windsurfer. The whole album is great and upbeat, but moving and deep as well! This was his last studio album before his heart attack. He seemed like such a caring , nice man and I had the pleasure of seeing him perform one year before he died! This CD is no longer in print and is not even on Apple itunes! A must for any music lover! thanks , Dana

Roy Orbison Mystery Girl cd Traveling Wilburys

Created: 10/08/08
This is a great cd for any Roy/Traveling Wilburys fan. Roy had not lost that great voice even up until this album. There are only one or two songs that aren't "great", but they are still very good; which makes the cd overall very good. I bought it mainly because of Jeff Lynne and the "Wilbury" sound, and for the price, it was well worth it. Hope this helps!

Roy is the real McCoy

Created: 14/01/09
I have had this title on cassette for sometime but wanted the quality of a CD.
I was a teenager in the 60's and sang to all his hits.I would find solace in his lyrics when I had a girlfriend problem. The songs on this album are newer but as I am still a kid at heart I still find the lyrics pull my heart strings. It is hard to say something new about RO - eat your heat out Elvis where ever you are!
