NASCAR 06: Total Team Control (Sony PlayStation 2, 2005)

This is the best nascar game yet! You can be any driver in the whelen modified series, craftsman truck series, busch series and NEXTEL Cup series. There are over 50 different tracks to choose from. This year's new feature is the team communicator. This device allows you to swap cars with your teammates for example if you were Jeff Gordon you could choose one of your teammates such as Jimmie Johnson, Brian Vickers, Kyle Busch, or Terry Labonte. There are other features besides swapping cars. They are Pit now which makes your selected teammate pit the next time they go by the pits. Another is block, which makes your teammate block a car that you don't want to be up front and be battleing with you. The rest of the commands are work with me, move over, hold position, and much more. Another feature is voice recognition. This features lets you talk into your Play Station 2 console to your crew chief. For example you could tell him that you want to pit and take 4 tires or anything else you want to do. This is the ultimate Nascar game. Can't wait for 2007 and 2008!

So your a Nascar FAN just like me 'eh? Well then you are going to LOVE this game!! EA Sports truly came through with something perfect this time. I have had this game for about 2 months now and I play it all the time. Especially after watching a Nascar race. Nascar 06 Total Team Control is all about you and your team mates. Say your Michael Waltrip and you all of a sudden crash out of turn 4. Well EA Sports now allows you to switch cars, like switching from Michael Waltrip to Dale Jr. or from Dale Jr's to Martin Truex Jr. As long as they are your team mate you can help them win. When in The Chase for the Cup mode you start off in Whelan Modified cars and when you show that you are a great driver (winning races or placing in the top 10) then they offer you a chance to prove yourself and get into Craftsman Truck series...and so-so all the way up to Nascar. You do get to create your own car and get your own sponsors...which makes the game a lot better. Another thing that is great is the action stick which can let you tell your teammate to get out of the way or block traffic coming after you. The graphics are great, a little better than 05, the replay value is a 10 out of 10. And the online expierence is quite fun. All in all if you like Nascar get this game, you won't regret this. We have owned this game for a year or so (since it first came out) and while my 15 and 12 year old boys seem to like more of the shoot them up ect., type games I have spent many hours (not really proud to admit it) letting the days cares and stresses fade into the background while building, buying, and perfecting the many race modes in NASCAR 2006. The race controls are sensitive, especially as you move up from the Rookie status but the graphics and abundance of tracks, cars and options to switch from one car to another even during a race make it a "Great Game" that I would highly recommend for any Nascar or racing fan in general

I love the graphics on this game, Whenever my son and I play it , it actually makes my heart beat a little faster just like watching the Nextel cup on T.V. It's a very enjoyable game.I recommend it. I mainly bought it for my eight year old son and I to have a little bit of fun with something we share the same interest in. My son wants to grow up to be a race car driver ,and this along with his go cart we just purchased this game kind of shows him a little bit of what it's like to be a racer.

We really can't do this game justice. It looks like it has great team building features. But, frankly, we just do the instant races, and it is more than enough for us. This game won my 6 year old's heart with the ability to show crash damage and do pit stops and my 9 year old loves choosing the car and driver as well as the track (our 'local' one being their favorite - and very accurate). Even without playing the 'Climb the Ladder' mode (that looks really intriguing to me ... if I had time to game) we have completely gotten our money's worth in this game.

It's a PS2 staple, and we go back to it time and again for good splitscreen (2-player) or full screen (1-player) racing as well as for times when we want a little fun, but don't have time to get into a lengthy game.
