NASCAR 08 (Sony Playstation 3, 2007)

We had been waiting for this game since last year, when we finally got it, it was VERY disappointing. While the graphics and the crashes are amazing, the gameplay definitely leaves something to be desired.
The whole idea is that you can control all of the aspects of your car to get a realistic feel and a driving experience that fits the way you drive. The reality is that it is impossible to steer the car on anything but a long track without the assists (such as braking and steering). Without these, the car just spins and once you spin, it is impossible to get back on the track because when you hit the apron you will spin again. One spin could leave you many, many laps down because of the futile attempts to rejoin the race.
We didn't try the game with a steering wheel and some have said that made it easier to steer, but we were so frustrated with it, it wasn't even worth the effort or money to try it.

This title for the NASCAR series is by far the most realistic. Tuning your car in this game is practically a must if you plan to be competitive online. No more jumping in and flooring it. I like the Chase mode, as it allows you to gain and hone skills in all the different types of tracks in the Cup schedule. The manufacturer challenges are a bit easier than the gold level Chase medals, but fun nonetheless. Thankfully, EA keeps up with the sport and included the COT version of all the Cup cars, although the COTs lack manufacturer distinguishing (i.e. the logos on the hood-Toyota,Chevy,Ford,Dodge). I've sold some other racing games I owned of this purchase, it's good.

Game has decent graphics. The Game is very hard to steer and cars are hard to control. The instructions are very complicated. Other car games like Need for Speed are much easier to drive. Game probably should only be bought by the serious gamer who happent to be a hardcore NASCAR fan also. That way he would stay with the game to overcome the difficulty and learn to drive. Not for the average or beginner player.

The game's visual graphics and gameplay are second to none, im mean the driving dynamics are so real, your car reacts to every thing worn tires, a bump in the road and even reacts to the damage your car has taken. The developers made the driving so real its actually like you're sitting behind the wheel of an actual race car. Of course the game will be difficult to handle for most but if you like Gran Turismo and realism this is a must have for any racing fan, and to say that its horrible and that Nascar Thunder 03 is better, someone obviously hasn't play Nascar 08 on the PS3.

This game lets you start out by racing at fairs, parks etc. The more you win, the more recognition you make. The races start out fairly easy to work you into how to work the controls, you start winning the races, the more money you start to make. You then can get sponsored which in turn allows you more variety in vehicles, colors, motors, brakes, etc. Build up your vehicle to win it all. You work you way up to the stock cars and races such as Daytona. The more you race, the harder it gets in the upper levels. A very good racing game and would recommend it to kids through adults. A racing fans game!
