NASCAR 08 (Xbox 360, 2007)

1. The AI is bad

2. Unrealistic lap times, not even close

3. Sometimes when you come out of a turn you will lift up onto to 2 wheels and then into a barrel roll of doom. What the heck?

4. Online is unplayable at this time, yes you can play online but you wouldnt want to play the way it is.

5. A few graphic bugs

6. Career Mode is a bunch of nothing, trust me.

7. No split screen

8. No victory lane

9. Auto yellows and pits.

10. Wrecks are a little overboard but cool in my book. To bad the cautions interrupt the actual wrecks from finishing!

11. No trophy room

12. Must use a wheel, to hard to steer with controller

All these flaws makes this game feel barebones and unfinished , was disappointed. I was impressed with the graphics and the realistic damage models. The VTV system and all 40 tunings to make your own setup.

I was excited about this game but let down overall. The grafics are not too bad but if you so much as touch another car you are wrecking. The career mode is awful. Then there is the actual driving, BAD! The car is nearly uncontrollable! I played online the other night at Talladega with 5 other players and we didn't even make it to the back stretch without a caution every restart was exactly the same, turn one caution wait for the pits restart caution. They were going for realistic but it is so real that it is too much and just not fun. The damage is cool but I didn't buy it to watch my car get destroyed I wanted a fun game not one that has me close to throwing my $50 controller!
Oh yea only a 1 player game where is the fun in that? NASCAR 06 was fun needed some work but it was fun NASCAR 08 not so much. I would definately rent it or get a used copy at Game Stop that you can return within 7 days they be loaded with them soon EA Sports It not in this game!! I know mine is on its way back there today and I got it on Friday. I would have brought it back that day but I had better things to do

This was the first NASCAR game for my 360. I have played all of the others on PS2. I was impressed with all of the differences between driving the regular cars and the C.O.T. The driver's license tasks before starting a career was a need feature. My only negative feedback, and this is against Microsoft and not EA Sports, would be about the sensitivity of the controllers. Having to use the LS for turning rather than the thumb pad, my car will always start to veer to the left. I wish Microsoft had a way to center the LS and RS before engaging any game. I love the varying levels of Craftsman Trucks, Nationwide Series, and Nextel Cup. The Create-A-Car series offers some neat sponsorship through real NASCAR sponsors and some funny/goofy freelanced sponsors. Graphics are great! HD compatible. Dr. Jerry Punch is your tutor through the game, if that matters to anyone out there. Game settings can be adjusted for all sorts of driver assists and games setting to customize your preferences. My wife had no problem with me playing this for over 12 hours right after I received this in the mail (so bless her heart!). As she won't play any games, she kept saying all sorts of compliments about this game from the opening graphics until I shut it off for the night.

They really dropped the ball with nascar 08. You start out in this game having to take driving test, this leads to lisence test, then if you pass all the test you can start a race team. The test are laid out just like Grand Turismo. The test are very hard and are NOT nascar like. You will spend days working on your driving skills just to start a race team, then you get to start racing. This is a bunch of crap!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aside from all the crap it will take to get the chase mode going, the graphices are 8.5/10, game play 7.0/10 the cars are very loose, handle like crap, be ready to tune , sound is a solid 8.0/10, fun factor 3/10 in chase mode, 6/10 in race now modes. graphics and sound are based off the 360 plugged through pc plug on 720p hdtv. sound plays true 5.1 digital.
The chase mode that allows you to build your own team is a true grand turismo knockoff that holds no ground to grand turismo. The chase mode should not been part of this game and it would still be average.
SAVE YOUR MONEY, DO NOT PAY OVER 15.00 FOR THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this on release day and have been very entertained by it. It is defiantely a challenge to get the wheel/controller settings to your liking, and will take some time. Once you do, the racing is good. I enjoy the modes, and the different cars/trucks you can run. The car setup is fun and can really make a difference.

This is not an easy game out of the box, it will take time to tweak, and the AI cars are a bit overly agressive. Once you get control of how to drive in this game it can be fun. If you like racing games, it is a good buy. If you are looking for just any ole game, then this probably isnt for you.
