Easily the best the series has ever had!
Created: 26/09/09
With solid, fast paced gameplay and an excellent presentation that's easily the best the series has ever had, NBA 2K10 continues its strong pedigree of great basketball. While the presentation holds down the fort, the inclusion of the NBA Today and My Player modes, as well as the addition of the developmental leagues make an already good title even better. While the technical issues, such as the slowdown and the legacy problems with the AI and shooting are dismaying, they don't completely destroy the on-court experience, which is still strong enough to allow 2K to hold the basketball crown for yet another year.
8.5 Presentation
Whether it's the broadcast-like splash graphics to the smoother menu navigation, 2K10 delivers an enjoyable basketball experience across the entire game.
8.5 Graphics
Apart from the cloth physics and the strange technical hitches that can plague the on-court play, these are great animations and realistic character models that anchor 2K10.
9.0 Sound
While the 2K Insider can be annoying, the soundtrack is solid, and the trio of Harlan, Kellogg and Miller, supported by the NBA Today feature makes commentary the most natural yet.
8.5 Gameplay
Legacy issues, like missed shots and AI issues, hold the gameplay down, but the new playcalling and refined sprint mechanics definitely strengthen on-court play.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
Tying the ability to bring a created player to an online crew is a great bonus for players trying to get their athletes to the next level. Otherwise, it's the same solid play experience as before.

Uncontested Realism
Created: 30/03/10
By far, NBA 2k10 is the most realistic basketball video game out there. In graphics, player animations, and actual game mechanics. It obviously beats past year's games but, it also blows new games, such as NBA Live 10 out of the water. Having said that, do not buy this game if you are average to sub-par at playing basketball games.
For me, this game is very difficult. Maybe I am just terrible, but I have no trouble beating NBA Live on almost any difficulty and I have zero trouble beating Sony's NBA series on any difficulty. On NBA 2k10, I cannot even win one game! My Create-A-Player is about the worst guy to ever hold a basketball in his hand, and my record is something like 0-13. Once again, that said, if you can beat this game, buy it!
In addition to the graphics, NBA 2k10 has the best variety of game modes. It has a playoff mode, an Association mode (Dynasty), a season mode, a career mode, a street mode (which includes pick-up games, 3 pt. shootouts, dunk contests, and games of 21), an online mode, and updated roster feature. As I said before, the graphics and animations are breathtaking.
In conclusion, NBA 2K10 is a great game if you are great at basketball games. I highly recomend renting the game or downloading the demo on Playstation Network before you buy it. If you can get for $39.99 or under, and can play some sim hoops, then its a great buy. Any higher than that, or if you cannot play virtual hoops, than do not buy this game. All in all, this is an average pickup.

One Of the Best Games I've Ever Played
Created: 28/11/09
I've been an NBA 2K series fan for years, and last year I was nearly addicted to 2K9. This year is no different, but this year 2K did a great job with the new commentary and NBA Today feature. The gameplay is amazing, and the My Player mode becomes stale at times, but overall is a fun mode to play to get away from the normal style of game. It seems as if 2K took everything that was wrong with 2K9 and just fixed it for 2K10. Long story short, this game is near perfect.

NBA 2K10 continues its dominance

This is the type of game fans of the 2K series have come to know and love. Solid basketball game throughout. There are still the same issues in gameplay that hopefully will be fixed in the next installment such as slowdowns in interior play and too many missed layups just to name a few. One aspect 2K10 really improved on is the overall presentation style. The commentary has improved, and the TV style broadcast presentation adds a very nice feel to the game. Added to the fact that the opening intro prior to a game shows the players do what they do pre-game eg. Dwight Howard's pregame shooting motions and LeBron's infamous powder in the air routine.

NBA2K10

This game is one of the best games out there right now. I purchased this game because it's like watching the real game; the way you pass, shoot, steal the ball, block, makes the game life like. I bought this game because my friend had it and after I played for the first time i had to have it. My friend has the xbox and i have the ps3, I believe the game platforms are virtually the same, so for those that don't have this game you gotta pick it up.
