NBA Jam (Super Nintendo, 1994)

I used to go to the arcade everyday to play this game. I would pump quarter after quarter into the arcade machine just to play the 2nd half! Granted this was back when games were just a quarter to play, and Mortal Kombat 2 was in the cabinet right next to the NBA Jam machine, I just couldn't get enough of it. Famous lines such as "He's warming up" & "He's on fire!" will stick in your head throughout the rest of your gaming lives. I have never had so much fun playing basketball, whether it was against the computer or a real person. I practiced this game for a competition that Blockbuster had during the mid-90s, and I practically mastered it. This is a very fun game, and if you are looking for an inexpensive sports game for an older system, this is probably the best one you can pick up. Prior to this series, there was Double Dribble, but this series blew that one off the face of the gaming map! You might even be able to pick up this title for less than $1 on eBay, so do yourself a favor and try it out if you never have.

NBA Jam is a classic game. Easily one of the Top 10 SNES games ever made.

One must note that there are at least two different versions of the game, the Original ('94) and Tournament Edition ('95). I mostly played the Original as a kid.

Tournament Edition (T.E.) has a few more options and a few more "smaller details" such as funny player comments. This version also has additional characters that can be players in the game, including some celebrities and musicians. However, both games are incredibly fun (and incredibly addicting!).

Playing this game, and a few other SNES games, definitely takes me back to when I was 10 or 11 years old.

I got my copy of the Original game for under $6, including shipping. You shouldn't have to pay much more than that for a good-quality copy of the game. T.E. might go for $10-11.

Awesome game to play with friends. 15 years later and it's still one of my favorite sports games. This game is a must have.

Play the computer or your friends in this classic early 90's JAM FEST. Two players vs. Two players with non stop action of SUPER DUNKING. Players heat up after making many shots in a row and the ball turns to fire. Great Game!

NBA Jam is one of the coolest games ever made. It is basic, fun, and easy to play. It brings back childhood memories, and quotes such as "from downtown," "He's onfire!" "at the buzzer!" good times!
