Need for Speed II (Sony PlayStation 1, 1997)

Need for Speed started out strong and always got stronger the longer the series went on. The first three NFS games were prime examples. Need for Speed built its base on the specs of real sports cars that most people could only dream of owning and the series never strayed from that all important formula. As the second Need for Speed game, it came out stronger than the first with more tracks and cars. Given the graphics of modern systems, Need for Speed for the Playstation are painfully outdated but given the solid gameplay mechanics and a hard but not impossible difficulty. What car you choose to what track is very important in this game. Without the right car, no matter how perfectly you drive, you wont win. The very first track spells it out for you. You can drive the whole track at your top speed, but if you pick a car with a lower top speed compaired to the rest of the pack, you can't catch up to win. With Need for Speed II, you can see where the whole series got its strength. Given what the creators had to work with, this is easily one of the best racing games on the orignal Playstation. With this being a Playstation game, you can't lose with this one if you want to relive old games. The only game better on the Playstation was Need for Speed III which took the Playstation system right up to the limit without clunking and bogging the system down. Need for Speed II is just good old fashioned fun to be had and at the rates you can find it on E-Bay, not a bad win either.

Need For Speed II could have been a decent racing game. All the right elements are there - cool cars, inventive tracks, decent control - but the execution has been seriously flawed by poor graphics and frame rate

Old school racing game, but I love it. The original 3 in this series have always been my favs and thanks to ebay I'm able to own them once again! :) Very easy to grasp game, fun tracks and awesome cars!

I decided to buy this game because I am addicted to speed and NFS lives up to my addiction. I have all of them except for NFS3. The game was ahead of its time when it first came out. It is still one of the few games that actually let you drive from the cockpit and give you fantastic dash board graphics. Compared with other racing games, you can see it's age but never mind that, its great and has detailed scenerary. Believe it or not, it can still be a challenge to beat. If you love racing games like me, you must own NFS 2, if not all of them! IT is the only game that gives you the history and videos on all of the cars as well. The only downside to the game is that there are only eight cars to choose from and one bonus vechicle. Other than that, the title says it all.

This game is vary fun if you like raceing and the need for speed games I have all playstation one need for speed game's and im proud to have this game to my collection. 8 supercars modeled to exact specs the game has 3-D raceing freedom-drive on or off the road against traffic even experience a 360 flip form within the cockpit and lot's more.
