the graphics are not like grid but the gameplay and fun are much higher!
Sit down and hang on, because Need for Speed SHIFT is in stores now and ready to take you for the most thrilling ride you can go on without leaving your living room.
Accolades are pouring in from the gaming press, with IGN.com giving SHIFT a 9.0/10 score and the Editors’ Choice Award, calling it “a glorious return to greatness,” and The Official Xbox Magazine giving the game a 9/10, saying SHIFT is “..Literally the first time a videogame has ever made me think ‘Holy crap.. maybe I should slow down.’”
Need for Speed SHIFT is first-person driving. Feel the power of a McLaren F1 from inside the cockpit with the new in-car perspective that IGN says makes the driving experience “so close to the real thing.”
Strap yourself in to feel the G-force and see the 3-D HUD of the True Drivers’ Experience and tailor the game to your driving style solo and online with the new Driver Profile, which evaluates your performance from race-to-race and impacts which cars you can unlock and how you evolve throughout your driving career.
Hit another car or a wall at high speeds and you’ll be knocked around and disoriented by the Dynamic Crash Effect system.
You may not be adventurous enough to install a high-flow exhaust or drop a turbo into your own Nissan 350Z, but with SHIFT’s total customization system, you can create the Fairlady Z from hell and race it against your friends at home or online.
SHIFT has 72 photo-real high-performance cars and 19 beautifully rendered tracks you can race more than 50 different ways, including Laguna Seca and Willow Springs.
If you’ve ever wanted to tear up some blacktop in a snarling supercar, SHIFT has you covered with the Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Gallardo and Pagani Zonda F just three of your options for motoring madness.

Need for Speed Shift

Need for Speed: Shift is the 13th installment of the long-running racing video game franchise Need for Speed; published by Electronic Arts. It was announced in December 2008 as part of a three-game announcement that includes Need for Speed: Nitro and Need for Speed: World.[5] Shift was developed by Slightly Mad Studios in conjunction with EA Black Box and published for Electronic Arts. In the new franchising model for the series adopted by EA, Shift takes its place focusing on simulation/arcade racing rather than the arcade racing of previous titles in the series. According to EA, the game has sold 4 million copies on all platforms combined. Shift was commercially successful, and a sequel, Shift 2: Unleashed, is set for a release in 2011.

Need for Speed Shift **A must buy**

Need for speed is the best racing game out there. Right from the title opening to gameplay you are immersed in its spectacular graphics. You are given different options for how much control you want to have over the car. This allows for to set a game play to suit your novice level. There is an online game play where you can compete against other actual people. The different camera views give a much better perspective for what is around you. The surround sound also helps you to be able to hear when you are about to be passed. All in all a great game. If you are looking for a racing game, stop looking. This is the one for you.

Great game!

This is definatly a game for the avid racer. This isn't just another crash and smash. Interfaces well enough with my Logitec GT wheel/pedals, though the feedback input from race conditions are a little lacking. Load times are a little annoying but tolerable. They drop you right into racing without much intro and workup, so this is a good one for those who know how use racing games. The scoring system is nice and the difficulty levels are well done. Pricing for cars and upgrades is reasonable and realistic. Though if you tier up you don't get to do the remaining tracks(if you wanted the chance to run them for points/ect). Worth the price, Stays interesting through the whole play. Be warned, the AO Drivers don't mind pushing you around!

A glorious return to greatness!

Closing Comments
Need for Speed Shift is a glorious return to greatness (and even excellence) for EA's seminal racing franchise. Slightly Mad Studios has delivered a driving experience that, while not completely accurate in terms of its simulation aspects, is practically dead-on in terms of what it's like to race around some of the world's best racing circuits. The career mode could (and should) have been a little better, but the act of driving is basically phenomenal.
8.5 Presentation
Minimal but still heart-pumping.
8.5 Graphics
Generally stellar visuals with a tad bit of blurriness here and there from mip-mapping issues.
9.5 Sound
Brilliantly executed in pretty much every respect.
9.0 Gameplay
The driving experience is incredible, and the controls are practically perfect for this approach. But, the career mode is lacking.
7.5 Lasting Appeal
Lots of events to partake in, but the career mode won't keep you racing for hundreds of hours like some of the competition. The online is very fun, but minimal in options.
9.0 Outstanding
This game is selling at a cheap price on my eBay store:
