The New Birth Order Book by Kevin Leman

This book is a phenomenal resource!! I have bought and given away more copies of this book than I care to count. It is very helpful in understanding people and why they do what they do. It's a great parenting book to understanding kids. According to your birth order it explains how each and everyone is different, yet explains some similarities and also points out weaknesses and helps. It is written in an easy format to read and the humor is cute. Although most of his points hit true, you will see some cross overs from 1st to 2nd to 3rd children. In general, it hits straight on and really makes you think. It has been a huge help in relating to personalities that are so different than mine. That being said, can you guess where "I" fall in the birth order? (If you guessed 1st born, baby - you'd be right. I am the baby, but the first born girl) You need to read this book more than once! Enjoy!!

Great insight into your birth order and what makes a birth order. I can see now why I have certain traits and how my family members act by way of their birth order. It is a fascinating book and very interesting to read.

I bought this book because it looked interesting at the FCS. I was curious about my 2 boys and the first born/baby personalities. I got way more than I bargained for. As I was skimming it, I read the part on the birth order of yourself and how it plays a role in your marriage. I was laughing so hard because it was so right on. I even called my friends and read them their marital birth order. They busted up laughing too. It was eriely correct!! Don't know how "scientific" I'd call it but it certainly was funny to read and pretty accurate in our family!

Wonderful insight for parenting!

This book has helped me to better understand all of my children, and my husband, their strengths and weaknesses, and how to better parent them! It is a wonderful insight into "Why we are the way we are". If you are a first-born who marries a baby of the family, you might have little patience for how unorganized your spouse is! If you are a baby of the family (like me) who is trying hard to parent a strong-willed first born (like me) this book will give you greater insight into how their attitudes are formed. Highly recommended for parents, spouses, ANYONE!

Good Book for insight

The book is right on. I found myself immediately, and with little exception I am the Firstborn as laid out in the book. Also got a clearer insight as to why I am who I am. I would recommend this book to anyone who is searching for answers. I found myself comparing the personality traits of others with whom I am acquainted to those listed in the book and they are pretty much on target. Very interesting and easy read. Keeps one's interest.
