A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose by Eckhart Tolle (2005, Unabridged, Compact Disc)

Eckhart Tolle is known as a spiritual guide/teacher. These CD's make it easier to understand the book because it is read by the author and I can listen to it at the gym, etc. I decided to buy it because it was recommended to me by a friend, who absolutely loved it and found it quite enlightening. I was told that it was an Oprah's Book Club recommendation as well but I don't watch Oprah. I was interested in it because it is supposed to help lead you to finding your life's purpose as well as talk about the human ego and the various types of egos of mankind that can disrupt your path/journey to finding peace and happiness. It sounds very interesting and I look forward to listening to it all at my convenience.

The author, Eckhart Tolle, has an amazing insight of the human condition, both as an individual and collectively. The gently probes the differences in thinking between the ego and the spiritual side of each one of us. This book is a MUST for anyone who is interested in expanding their spiritual dimensions. Eckhart Tolle is truly one of my gurus. I work with recovering alcoholics seeking their spiritual path, and I have recommended this book to each one of them. This is definitely one spiritually expanding book.

Eckhart Tolle, in his own voice, reads from his astonishing book "A New Earth." With simple yet profound logic, he guides the reader through a peaceful, yet life-changing process in which old paradigms are inspected and discarded and new, incredibly powerful principles are revealed in a most joyful and empowering manner.

I loved this book, and was delighted when my husband listened to it on a recent business trip and came home with a greatly improved outlook on life. As a result of listening to these CD's and discussing the application of Tolle's principles in our lives, I can honestly say we not only get along with each other better, our businesses have prospered and we are actually better people on this planet.

I am grateful to Tolle for writing this in such an accessible way. The content is priceless. The only downside (to me) was that his voice is so soothing that at times I found myself distracted by other thoughts and had to rewind and listen to a given section again. My husband had the opposite reaction: to him, if he had read it, instead of hearing the author's voice, it would not have been as profound.

I highly recommend this book. The more people exposed to Tolle's fascinating and brilliant ideas, the better off our planet will be!

Eckhart's book "A New Earth," as well as "The Power Of Now," has been very interesting to read. It has helped me to learn to live in the moment and has improved my lifestyle so much for the better. I applaud Eckhart Tolle for bringing forth his wisdom and teachings of the spiritual world. Thanks to him I am now in touch with my inner self and being.

I read this book Before reading the "The Power Of Now" & had no problems in understanding what Eckhart Tolle is sharing. I bought the book also on CD so I can listen to it while driving as a review of sorts which I've enjoyed doing.

I just can't put into words what this has done for me. I now live in a more Peaceful & Loving place. There is no need for the constant sick mind chatter or judgments anymore that can literally drive you insane. Eckhart's words are simple & straight to the point & I found them very easy to understand. I've had so many moments while reading this book where I just thought to myself Finally I Get It!!

You will read or hear of those who say Eckhart & even Oprah now are evil. I feel that the Only thing evil is in those who Want to see & find evil! And they will find it & manifest it in their lives or try to manifest it in Others lives.
Evil is found In those who secretly Want Evil & speak of it constantly!

I read one of the comments about this book & it brought up Bible quotes & in turn was comparing Eckhart to the Christ/Profit?
That is just Twisted Sick & Disturbing!
Eckhart quotes the Bible, Jesus, & quotes other faiths. He says he does not see himself as a profit of any means. And I do not see him as such. He is a Human Being just like all of us who has shared his thoughts. If you have a closed mind & do not want to grow then stay in the place you are & stop spewing Hatred.
