NFL Greatest Games Series - Pittsburgh Steelers DVDs
Created: 29/01/09
Original broadcasts of the 5 Super Bowl games in which the Pittsburgh Steelers were victorious. Visual quality for the games in earlier years are just fair to good because the games were converted from the old tapes to digital format. However, if your not too particular with the visual quality, the recordings are good enough to enjoy and remember the championship triumphs of the greatest team in NFL history, (including when the franchise won "the one for the thumb" in Super Bowl XL.) My favorite thing about these DVD's is that because I was born during the 1970's, I remember watching the earlier games and their outcomes, but I don't remember much about the actual games themselves. Now, watching them through adult eyes, I am enjoying them on a completely different level.

The Pittsburgh Steelers did a remarkable task in winning their 6th. Super Bowl game. No matter where you go, there is always a Steeler fan, no where in the world is there such a connection. Pittsburgh Steelers fan are the best. This will be added to my collection of unforgetable games.

The only copies of the entire Steeler's Super Bowl victories. I've been trying to find these for years, it's great that NFL Films finally released the footage. The quality is just ok, but what did I expect for 1976 footage etc ? I was a bit disappointed that Super Bowl XL was in 4:3 ratio rather than wide screen, and there is no half time footage from any of the games. Other than that it was really nice to see the whole game for once.

Very Disappointing Release by Warner Bros. - NFL
Created: 24/10/08
I have been looking forward to this release for quite some time, assuming that they would provide the best picture quality possible for these classic games. Unfortunately, when I received the DVD set I discovered that Super Bowl IX and Super Bowl X have terrible picture quality. They appear to be very poor 9th or 10th generation bootleg copies, at best. I have previous copies of the original broadcasts of these two games and the picture quality is much, much sharper than the versions included in this set. I wonder what source Warner Bros. used for getting the two games mentioned above? I can't believe that they got them from the networks. The picture quality of the other 3 games (SB XIII, SB XIV, and SB XL) is pretty good for the most part, although there is a slight picture degeneration for a couple of brief segments of the 2nd quarter of Super Bowl XIII. Overall, this is very disappointing considering the poor picture quality of Super Bowl IX and X.

NFL Greatest Games - Pittsburgh Steelers 5 Super Bowls

I had purchased 3 sets of these DVD's as Christmas presents and was very surprised to see as we watched the 1st person open and play the DVD's one at a time. The clarity of these DVD's video is very poor to say the least. I couldn't beleive that the NFL would let video that poor go to market and be sold to the public. It does give you all the Super Bowls Pittsburgh had won, but the video is very poor. I don't think they cleaned it up at all before burning them onto the DVD master discs. If you don't mind watching pictures that are distorted and blurred at times- then you'll like these. The only other thing I would like to say is, maybe the next time they come out with something like this the NFL will do there homework and make the people producing these DVD's, clean them up to make the video sharper and easier to watch..... VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH DVD'S
