3dx Hybrid Performs Great. Best Value in Hybrid!
Created: 08/06/06
About me: I'm a mid- to high- handicap golfer and play 1-2 rounds a month.
I currently carry 2 hyrbids in my bag (2-iron and 3-iron Nickent Genex 3dx Ironwoods). I have owned and played both the Nike CPR ironwood type hybrid and the TaylorMade Rescue Mid.
Hybrid clubs have definitely helped my game. As advertised hybrids are generally easier to hit than long irons, get the ball in the air quickly, and fly higher and farther than the irons these clubs are intended to replace. They are versatile and can be hit from the tee, the fairway, the rough, out of fairway bunkers, and even used on chip shots from the fringe.
Performance: As far as hybrids go, the Nickent Genex 3dx is hard to beat. Its a super easy to hit club with a very low and back center of gravity. Its forgiving and launches the ball high and long. I think its likely as good as any hybrid on the market today (particularly for the average player). Certainly better than the Nike CPR that I have played and as good as the TaylorMade Rescue Mid I played just before the Nickents. In fact, I selected the Nickent based on how similar it was in design to the TaylorMade Rescue Mid.
Price: I think what really sets the Nickent apart is its price. I paid $80 new retail for my steel shafted 3iiron Nickent and $100 new retail for the Aldila NV Hyrbid shafted 2-iron. In comparison, the Rescue Mids were about $180 at the time.
Press: Lately, I’ve seen a lot of print ads in golf publications from Nickent touting it as the most played hybrid on tour (combined PGA, Nationwide, and Senior tours). The ads say that Nickent doesn’t pay any player to carry their clubs and yet more pros carry their hybrids than any other manufacturer. I have no idea if this is true and it doesn’t have any bearing on whether the club will help my game, but based on the shots I’ve hit with this club, I can only imagine what it could do in the hands of pros.
Bottomline: The Nickent Genex 3dx hybrids delivers solid performance but at an unbelievable price point. Probably as good as any hybrid on the market, it’s a solid choice. Factor in the price, and this club becomes maybe the best value in a hybrid on the market today.

Nickent 3DX Hybrid - almost like cheating
Created: 04/08/06
After hitting much more expensive hybrid clubs at the store and being underwhelmed, I decided to take a $100 flyer on a Nickent based upon word of mouth. There is a reason this is the most popular hybrid on tour - it works.
After buying the 4/23* and loving it (long, high, fairway-wood flight with a normal iron-swing!) I went back for the 3/20* and now have the confidence to go after even well-bunkered greens from 180-210yds out. They have added confidence and removed strokes since I put them in the bag - short par 5s are now reachable and long par 3s no longer fill me with dread. I hit them off the tee, fairway or short rough with equal enthusiasm and the ball still flies 90% of normal distance if you catch one with the heel or toe. My only (very small) complaint is that it is difficult to hit these things crooked when you need to shape the ball, but once you realize they only go long and straight, they will become your best friends.
Now that the DC-version is out, you can find the graphite-shafted regular DX for $80-100 and steel from $65-80 -- an unbelievable bargain. Nickent spends its $ on development, not expensive endorsement contracts. We benefit.
Throw out the 2, 3 and 4 irons and even the 5-wood - replace them with Nickents and add a wedge or two. And then watch your scores drop a couple strokes, or more. After 6 rounds, my 15 hcp is now in the 13s and I cannot wait to get back to the course to shave off a few more tenths.

Best Low Loft Hybrid on the Market
Created: 08/07/09
Excellent club, well constructed, solid feel and nicely balanced. Great to look at address too. I purchased this club to use on short Par 4s (<400yds) and it is perfect for that. I average about 255-270 yds off the tee with an average swing speed of between 105-110 mph. Uniflex steel shaft is very nice, feels firm enough for me, but forgiving.
14 degree loft is perfect for producing the low, boring flight I want off the tee. When I hit this solidly, it feels like the club head is a solid block of metal. Great feel. I can also move the ball left or right when I need to. Would recommend to anyone looking for an exceptional club for short par 4s or other situations where low accurate shots are needed.
I've hit this off the deck successfully at both the course and the range and have great confidence in my ability to get the ball up from almost any lie. I really can't say enough good things about this hybrid from Nickent!

Hybrid Gofl Club Purchase
Created: 02/11/06
I am very pleased with my recent purchase of the Nickent Genex 3DX Ironwood hybrid club. It was a brand new, still in the plastic wrap, club and the price I paid was significantly what I could have bought it for through golf retail shops and online wholesalers. Nickent produces a quality of club that rivals the major club mfrs. In fact because I had read reviews of the Nickent club in national golf publications I wanted to try one for myself and I couldn't be happier with the club itself and, most importantly, the results I get with it on the course. It has a great feel at impact, and its look and design are pleasing to the eye at address. Thanks Ebay.

The answer for my lousy fairway game

Nickent Genex 3DX Ironwood 20* 3 Hybrid - R Flex Graphite
First things first, I'm a newbie golfer. I don't have a high clubhead speed or loads of distance (yet). My fairway play stinks; for whatever reason I can't hit fairway woods. I can hit my cheapo 21* hybrid but I get no more distance than I do with my 7 iron -- about 125 yards. Nickent was the logical choice after reading up. It arrived yesterday and I played it today. Straight out of the box, this club is incredible! It feels great and, most important for someone like me, it gets up and flies straight.
I hit it several times in today's round, never a mis-hit. (If you knew me you'd think I was lying.) I was getting around 160-170 yards out of it and once crushed it for 190 (yes, that's crushing for me).
This from tom8059's review was helpful: "This shaft feels much stronger to me than an R flex so don't assume you need and S or X". I know I don't need an S flex but some R flex shafts feel whippy. This R flex feels quite nice. Oh, and the Winn Master Wrap? Love it.
