A haunting perspective on socia commentary. Comes across first as your average B 1960s horror film but then the premise becomes intense and with superb acting, subtle storyline, and great direction the film ventures further into a look at how society views itself in the '60s--which in a way can even ring true today. A very well done, brilliantly filmed movie--worth watching in any era.

One of the best Romero films. Unlike more modern versions told the story without the use of buckets of gore and mayhem.Set the stage for all of the other zombie pictures that came later.
