A Real Dissappointment For Many Reasons.
Created: 11/02/10
Well, what can I say about this film that's positive first so as to not just sit here and complain about the film. Being a Sci-Fi buff and a real big fan of true-to life alien abduction films, I will have to say that the footage shot of the abduction was pretty impressive thanks to the Alien Concepts and Design specialist. The film is practically over when the footage of the experimentation finally begins. Richard (Jason Connery) gets pretty messed up there at the end and is somehow found later buried with only his head sticking out of the sand. Michael Dorn (Worf - Star Trek:The Next Generation) gives an impressive 25 seconds of Richard's discovery at the end of the film. So I've said everything that I like about the film up until now. Maybe I should stop and leave it a that. No I can't; it wouldn't be fair to those that want to see the alien abduction; now would it?
The most ridiculous thing about this film was that the characters seemed mean and hateful to one another as they drove down the road in their RV. There was absolutely no reason in the world that Matt (George Stults) would have jumped out of the RV and socked Richard in the face for being so far out in the road. This just shows total ignorance and makes you want to call up the director who happens to be Roy Knyrim and ask him how he could shoot a film that depicts such cartoon-like characters. Even still, after the accident, Matt acts so very concerned about the safety of everyone, but after Joe gets a knife in his back, everybody turns into zombie-like imbeciles acting like selfish children. Now don't forget everyone is supposed to be concerned about Joe right? Well not really according to what everyone was doing. Molly (Ashley Peldon) acts totally slutty and tries to gussie up to Richard and drinks some Vodka and wants to party and go hang out by his truck. Ashley, you really are cute, but I think your character really overdid it in the film. If you really wanted to impress the director and Jason Connery, you would have really tried to show your talent with your brains, not your physique. As we soon become fully aware of falling more deep into that endless quagmire of poor editing, poor scripting, and mediocre acting, Richard slowly stops what he was doing to be Mr. Macho and patch up Joe, and begins his pity party tirade about his war-time torture and the likes to impress Ms. Molly. Meanwhile, Lilly (A.J. Cook - FINAL DESTINATION 2) takes time to confront Matt about his lack of interest in marriage because supposedly she has found out that she is expecting a child and could not care less about getting Joe medical attention expeditiously. If this story was true, then they should gone with the facts and left the total fiction on the drawing board. The story was by Eric Miller, but the script needed to be crafted into something totally different. A limited budget is one thing, but if you are going to blow up an RV why not wreck it correctly.
There is one good joke in the film unfortunately told by Joe who will soon bite the dust. You soon figure out how immoral and trashy these people really are soon after Joe's wife June (Gwendoline Yeo) talks about her favorite positions in bed. It's almost like they spent so much time trying to convince you that these people were real (not actors) that it got so totally ridiculous for the first 45 minutes of the film.
Jerry Jackson needs to be thanked for adding his tid-bit of reality to the film as the radio preacher.

Night Skies

A rather good little B-movie. The story is based on an "actual" event that occured in March of 1997, as we are told at the beginning of the film. It also utilizes actual UFO footage in the closing of this film. It opens with footage of U.S. Senator John McCain giving his brief carefully spoken politicians answer to his thoughts and belief on UFOs, so this film has to be true (yup-yup). We are also told that the story was taken from one of the victims while under regression therapy to obtain details of the incident for the transcript that was used in the making of this movie. The story is about a group of friends traveling in an RV and they start noticing strange lights in the night sky. They end up crashing their RV into another vehicle that's broken down in the middle of the woods. The owner of the truck that was struck be-friends all of our heroes except for the driver of the RV who instigates and attempts to engage the stranger in a "road rage" fight for no apparent reason. This leads to tension between the two throughout the film. I'm suspicious of this stranger who comes across as a little too friendly and a little too helpful at times. He also has a knack for showing up in critical situations. He helps our heros battle and escape the aliens when they attack the RV. He earlier reveals to one of the female occupants of the RV that he was a former Desert Storm prisoner of war and had been brutally tortured. He shows us his scars on his wrists. He also mentions to her that he had gone through a bout of alcoholism and morphine addiction after his military release and is now clean and sober. Without giving to much more away, the movie left me with the thought and feeling that perhaps this could be a story about multiple homicide and that the aliens and UFOs were used as a very elaborate alibi to cover up the fact. If in fact this story did occur. The effects were done well and the aliens look great. There is some gore in this movie so if your squeamish look out. It sort of reminded me of "Fire in the Sky" at the ending.
***NOT a movie for the kids***

BASED ON TRUE STORY!

I THOUGHT THE MOVIE WOULD NOT BE GREAT, BUT ACTUALLY, GOT INTO IT!! THE OTHER VIEWERS SAY, O THEY ALWAYS WRECK IN MOVIES, ETC. THIS IS BASED ON A TRUE STORY THAT, WAS SWORN TO BE TRUE BY THE SURVIVORS, I HAVE SEEN WORSE ACTING, ACTUALLY I THOUGHT THEY DID A GOOD JOB. THE MOVIE FREAKED ME OUT! I JUMPED A FEW TIMES DURING THIS FILM. I ALWAYS RECOMEND WATCHING WITH THE LIGHTS OFF AND AT NIGHT. AND KNOWING THIS COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN, MAKES IT A GREATER MOVIE! THE SPECIAL EFFECTS WERE GOOD, AND READ THE STORY LINE AT THR BEGINNING AND EXSPCIALLY AT THE END. THESE UNKNOWN LIGHTS WERE ACTUALLY SEEN BY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. BUT ONLY A FEW WITNESSED THE HORROR! DO YOU BELIEVE THEM! IT MAKES YOU WONDER? I SAY BUY IT! IF NOT SURE, GET IT CHEAP!

Boy do these people have problems. Don't you hate it when you get Lost at night in your RV and, Then hit a parked truck, Then hit a tree, Then one of you is killed in in the crash, Then you are stuck in the rural country side, Then your phone dosen't work.... and Of course thats always when the "Aliens always show up".
They had a bad night.
