Nike SasQuatch 460 Tour Driver Golf Club

I am a single digit handicapper and like most golfers is always in search of that extra few yards from the driver. I have purchased and thoroughly tested Nike's line of Sasquatch Drivers and as well as modifed the shafts in search of that ultimate club. I think I've finally found it in the Sasquatch 460 Tour. I purchased a 9.5 degree driver with an Aldila NV 65 Stiff shaft from ebay and after an hour on the practice range and 27 hole round, I can't contain my enthusiasm for this club. Solid shots fly straight as an arrow and has a tight boring trajectory that ultimately adds another 20 yards of roll to the drive after landing. It is moderately workable for the draw or fade as well. 300 yards is now a reality for me on solid drives and 260 yards are the average for the off center shots. I still felt in control when I gave it a little extra umpfff for that long par 5. I would recommend this club only to low handicappers because if you really miss it, it isn't as forgiving as the other line of Sasquatch drivers. Solid contact will give you a ball that takes off and just seems to go forever. I would also recommend some form of swing analysis to determine the optimal loft, shaft, and flex combination. Mismatching the club and shaft to the player is usually what causes the poor review ratings on this site. You should be able to hit any club head reasonably well as long as the shaft is the right fit for you. Here is my overview for the other clubs: I would recommend the Sumo Squared for the very high handicapper because it is very forgiving and will add yards and accuracy to those with a lower swing speed. Heavy hitters should avoid the Sumo squared because hitting it harder doesn't necessarily give you that extra bang for the buck you're expecting. The original sasquatch and Sumo are essentially the same club. The sumo is suppose to have a slightly higher MOI, but I couldn't appreciate a significant performance difference. These two clubs will perform quite well for all levels of skill level. But if you've got skills and make consistent contact, you have to go with the Sasquatch 460 tour, you won't regret it.

So, I had to try this club out because 1) its a NIKE and 2) Tiger Woods plays it or had played it and 3) I'm a huge fan of Nike. This club ranks in my list next to Taylormade. Nike Drivers are simply amazing and this club raises the bar. Sasquatch is as good as the R7 if not better in my opinion. The sound that comes off the face is a sold ding thats thicker than most Titanium clubs. The ball carries very well off impact.

Shaft Review (Fujikura):

The shaft needs its own review. It is an incredible shaft and is a key reason why this club hits straight and far more consistently than any club I have ever played. I really do believe this shaft really helps your swing and I believe most pro's would not disagree with me. I’ve been through tons of drivers out of curiosity and these Fujikura shafts ranks as one of the top shafts I have tried. This shaft is top of the line in close rank with Aldila and really adds a great feel to the swing as well as confidence.

Nike has finally come of age in the manufacturing of drivers business. Granted they were really making progress with the Ignite 410 then some improvements went into the larger Ignite 460. Now, however, they seem to have taken a leap in competing with the likes of Taylor Made in providing a solid golf club that can give the above average player a viable alternative to having to "guess" what weight to put in which slot, etc. This club is set up so your only choices are loft, shaft type, shaft flex, shaft weight, and length. The center of gravity is such that I have found the launch angle and trajectory of the 9.5 degree with the Diamana 83 gram stiff shaft to be optimial for a swing speed of 100 to 105 and is still very stable when stepping it up a notch even thought with the faster speed the tendency is for the ball to arc a bit high.
A quick note on the over the counter standard Sasquatch. This is a real boost for the higher handicapper in getting the ball airborne with optimal carry and helping to eliminate those big slices, however, lessons and practice help as well.

Give me a Nike SQ 460 or Nike SQ 460 Tour and I'm set for my golfing life.

I don't need Taylormade, Ping, Titleist, Cobra, Adams - none of these brands gets it done like a Nike SQ 460.

I got my first Nike 460 SQ from a disgruntled plumber. He noticed my Taylormade 8.5 r510 and proposed that we do a trade. Right on the fourteenth tee box. I wasn't hitting it all that great, and I didn't spend an arm or a leg on the club, so I said "yes". The Nike SQ 460 and I immediately fell in love. I couldn't believe how accurately I began hitting my drives.

Much to my dismay, two months ago my entire bag of clubs was stolen from my station wagon. What was I going to do after my most cherished club-my Nike SQ 460 9.5 stiff-shafted driver- had vanished in the night? Get another one, of course.

I'm always thinking about equipment and not paying that much for it. So I went back on eBay and bid on a Nike SQ Tour 460 with 10.5 degrees of loft, instead of my usual 9.5 degrees. I still needed a stiff shaft, but felt that extra degree of loft could give me some room to play with. Was I right!

The Nike SQ Tour 460 with 10.5 degrees of loft and a stiff 65g Mitsubishi Diamana shaft opened up another world for me. Not only could I hit that boring tee shot to my max distance, but I could also work the ball high or low, depending on my position and tee height. I must say, however, that I only play round drivers. The square ones do not do it for me.

Before you go paying big money for your "brand" name driver, make sure you hit a round SQ 460 or SQ 460 Tour. You will be amazed at how little difference there is between a used Nike and a new "brand" name item.

Go for it, man, go for it. Get yourself in the fairway and out of trouble.

As a beginning golfer, having started just 1.5 years ago, the Nike Sasquatch was recommended by the local pro as a great forgiving driver. I have now been playing with the ladies Sasquatch for over 8 months. The entire head is a sweet spot. The club is very forgiving. I get nice straight drives everytime. I rarely slice or hook with this club. Due to the oversized head, I need to use the long 3.25 tees to get the ball elevated. With this driver, I am hitting the ball consistently at 145-155. With a ladies Callaway driver, I was slicing and getting 120 on a good day. There was a significant change in my drives on the first day I had this driver. It definitely took the frustration factor out of my drives!

The Sasquatch is available for RH or LH players and is a 460cc head with a 10.5 loft and a 44 inch graphite shaft. It boasts the largest footprint in Golf and is on Golf Digest's 2006 Hot List. The suggested retail is $359. I didn't wait for them to be listed on eBay and a golf store in Miami sold me mine for $320, when they first came out. As of August 2006, these are on eBay under $300.
