Nikon Zoom-Nikkor 28 mm-105 mm F/3.5-4.5 AF D IF Lens (1971)

I have found the Nikon 28-105mm to be my all purpose, carry everywhere, do everything with lens.
I use this lens on my D200 digital camera body. And it just works superbly. Low cost, light weight, and amazing to me indeed. It's my favorite lens out of all my lenses. I have four including nikon VR lenses. And this one stays on my camera!

One con about this lens is it was developed and produced before digital cameras. And you get some chromatic abberition , not alot but some. But this to me is not enough to get rid of this lens, as it is easily remedied with software.

The Nikon 28-105 F3.5 - 4.5 D-AF Lens is terrific as a standard lens for day-to-day use. Most especially, the macro function of the lens is what I love best about this lens. It is nice for extreme close-ups and taking tightly framed portraits as well. Perhaps, the lens is under appreciated as there are so many other new wonderful Nikon lenses available.

This is definitely a sleeper of a lens. I was looking for a lens I could use as a walk around lens. Something I could put on the camera body and be concerned about weight but yet would give me the sharpness & clarity I was accustom to with my other Nikon lenses. I have been pleasantly surprise and pleased with it's quality and highly recommend this lens.

It may not be the top lens in my bag, but I won't sell my Nikon 28-105 D-AF F3.5-4.5, for its value to me, just when I need it. I shoot FX and DX, and it does an great job as a basic lens, but it really shines at Macro shooting.

This is a great mid-zoom lens. It's too bad that Nikon no longer makes it. I've used one for years; this one was a gift. It's good for scenery, parties, hiking, 1-2 person photos.
