) Great lens. For less than 200 dollars you can get a AF and fast lens. worth every single bucks. Only drawbacks is that the focal length is a bit too long on a DX format camera (1.5x50mm=75mm). Must buy for FX camera.

I love this lens. I bought it for my Nikon D3100. I was hoping to get some nice portraits with a pretty blurry background. This lens helps me achieve the bokeh I was hoping for. The images are perfectly clear and so easy. It is great for portraits but not as good for landscape pictures. It is a manual lens, so if you don't know how to shoot in manual, you won't be able to shoot at all. Best of all, it was a great price. It's hard to find a lens under $200.
If you want a very fast lens that works great, its a great buy.

) I own a D300s with a 16-85 zoom and wanted a lens with more speed and a little reach for some sports and portrait work. This little lens is very sharp, and focuses fast and much smaller and lighter than my zoom. A great value with 3 + stops gain or about 10x brighter at the zooms 50mm setting. I leave it on my camera at work since that range is all need there and I am not wearing out my 3x more expensive zoom that I use out.
Best way to buy lenses.

Lens is working great in low light close up conditions. Cost effective way to add lenses to your array.

Nice lens! You are lucky if it autofocuses on your camera, because AF-Ss are way too expensive. A must have for nice portraits. VEry nice lens!
