Sony PS2 -- A whole lotta bang for a little buck!
Created: 17/02/07
The PlayStation 2 game console was the best of its generation. Can it hold a candle to the nextgen systems (PS3 and XBOX 360)??? Let's see...
Graphics: Nextgen wins. This one's a no-brainer. The PS2 can't compete with the nextgen systems on this front. Though I should mention that the PS2 has very good graphics.
Gaming Library: PS2 wins. There are games for all ages on the PS2 and you can play the PS1 games as well. The PS3 (as of this writing) is still having compatability issues with the PS2 and PS1 games.
Online: Difficult...Nextgen takes it. The 360 has decent online funtions. PS3 is lagging on that front...PS2 online is free...
Size: PS2 wins. The original is bulkier than the slim, but still smaller than nextgen systems.
Price: PS2 all the way! If you can afford to go out and drop $400 minimum for the nextgen systems, by all means, have at it. But for those of us looking to spend considerably less than that, the PS2 is where you'll get the most bang for your buck.
Overall, I've had absolutely no problems with the PS2. The PS2 doubles as a DVD player (regular DVD's, not HD or Blu-Ray) and though I've never used it as such, it can also double as a CD player. A remote can be purchased separately.
I would recommend the PS2 to anyone not in a position to go out and buy the newest nextgen console.

This games console is really nice for my younger children. Not only the "Mario" type games but the creative games that are provided free for the game. They draw the children and their imagination out. Whether it is with pictures or sound, music our simply challenging their brain, this game does it and makes it enjoyable. I would truly recommend this for children under 15 years. (although those older can still find it entertaining)

Even though it's no PS3 or Wii, it still has it's rich backgrounds and endless entertaining titles to keep you engaged through a good part of your life. Just buy a couple of RPG games or check out the top 10 PS2 games from any review site, and you'll actually appreciate having your PS2.
I definitely enjoy it's interactive and easy navigation as well as it's simplicity. I think the bottom line is that if you just want some good entertaining games and affordability, definitely consider buying a PS2 used or new.
One of the reasons I bought a PS2 was for the Final Fantasy series and hearing such rave reviews about Kingdom Hearts.
I think if you want to escape for just a little bit out of your life, relax, and just sit , try the PS2.

Good. Thank youThe Sony PlayStation 2 is a sixth-generation video game console that is a part of Sony PlayStation series. With 138 million units sold across the globe, the Sony PlayStation 2 is the most successful gaming console in the world. The Sony PlayStation 2 uses DVD & CD as media, and can double as a fully-functional DVD player. You can also use the Sony PlayStation 2 used for online gaming; however, a Network Adaptor is needed. The Sony PlayStation 2 game library is very large with over 1900 titles; this video game console is also backwards compatible with many of the original Sony PlayStation titles. Moreover, this video game console is also capable of running Linux.

I'm gonna be honest here. I have EVERY version of the Nintendo GameBoy EVER created. I kid you not. From the really thick and clunky ugly gray colored one with the purple A-B buttons, to the "we're copying off the Sega Genesis PlayGear body" Gameboy Advance first incarnation... to today's wicked cool DS "I'm in love with it" Lite. I am a GameBoy fiend-ess.
Actually, the DS Lite is the hottest electronic handheld video game device in Japan right now. (It's more popular over there than the PSP is, actually, whereas the PSP is more popular than the DS Lite is over here. Got it? Yeah.) Personally, I think each platform has it's own strengths and weaknesses, that make both of them, well... you're just gonna want to have 'em both to play with. Like I do.
When The first incarnation of DS came out, it was much heavier - with a thicker case, the screen light was less luminous (it didn't shine as bright), and the screens were smaller. There were also a few other things that (kept losing that darn stylus) drove gamers nuts.
So, after hearing the many complaints from mass market video gamers (like yours truly), Nintendo went back to the DS drawing board and did a little redesigning. They ended up with: the DS LITE.
