The Nintendo 5A22 processor and 128 KB RAM of this game console ensure a smooth performance while gaming. The Nintendo SNES is capable of delivering a resolution of 256 x 224 – 512 x 448 (max), giving you a vivid picture of things. To start playing, you have to merely insert the desired game’s cartridge (2 to 48 Megabits) into the Nintendo gaming system, and you are ready to go. Many classic titles are available with this game console (over 750 games), most notably a memorable arcade version of Street Fighter II.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System is one of if not THE best gaming console. And yes, that includes today's "advanced" consoles. the SNES sported, by far, the most extensive and fun game library to date. The cartridges still work fine today as they did the day they came off of the assembly line back in the 90's. The 16-bit graphics offer a certain atmosphere and charm that games today can't touch, unless they revert to this design. The games of the 16-bit era were fun and did not overload the player with information on-screen or via tutorials.

Some of the best games in history and to date are on the SNES. Super Mario World 1&2, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, the Megaman X series, E.V.O. The Search for Eden, Super Ghouls 'N' Ghosts, Yoshi's Safari, Super Scope 6, Gemfire, Secret of Mana, Illusion of Gaia, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy series, Earthbound, Earthworm Jim, Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past. I could literally go on and on with a massive list of titles. Bottom line is, this console had the best game around and still does.

I purchased this original SNES for a number of reasons. First, I was using a later model on loan from a friend. I wanted my own and I wanted the original model. Second, was that it was not yellowed. Next, was the massive library of awesome titles that I wanted to experience again. Another point is a bit of nostalgia, but that was a minor reason. Finally, I wanted to enjoy games again. I have all the new consoles and handhelds, but they just don't offer the same experience games of the 16-bit era did. Sure they look gorgeous, but the quality and replay value of today's games are much lower than in the past. I can go watch an HD 3D film if I want eye popping visuals.

I bought the SNES because I wanted to feel what games are really about. If you want hours, no years, of fun then you too will purchase the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. You can't go wrong with it.

This system is old school. I bought it for my grand children. The ratings I'm providing are not to be compared with todays graphics and hd quality. I am rating it based on my 3 and 5 year old grand children using it. Its almost indestructable except for cables. It is easy to use. There are still alot of games available, and for what a used one cost vs. the amount of fun it provides for us with our grand children, the value for the money is excellent. Its also surprising how the older cousins want to play. It provides old fashion fun at a reasonable price.

Even with today's ever advanced gaming, the Super Nintendo stills compares well with it's features. It's holds so many originals that have become big in today's games, like Mario Kart, StarFox, Street Fighter, and Metroid! Whether you're new to video games, or an avid gamer, this is something that captivates all audiences!

The SNES was in it's day, and still today, an awesome gaming system. It has very expansive selection of creative, immersive, and entertaining games. Many games are unique to SNES or have an added touch of class and or flair that the SNES hardware allowed for. Having just a little more tech and having that little extra in it's hardware over it's competitors of the time.
A definite must have for retro gamers, or those craving a bit of nostalgia. Emulators just can not fully replicate the overall experience of having the real hardware in my opinion.

Finding a system that has not yellowed, or games with memory held by battery that are still charged is getting hard these days.. but the games are an easy fix, and for the discoloration Google "Retrobright&quot;. It's not a pre-made product and the so called ones out there don't generally work as well. DO NOT USE BLEACH to whiten. It can do more harm than good. Pick a way to seal the cleaned system (clear coat maybe) and it could be good for another 20 years.

Great system, get one and have fun.

Released by Nintendo in 1991, the SNES or Super Nintendo Entertainment System effectively blew Sega out of the water. One of the best titles out on the market today, Super Mario World, was released on this system. I'm going to go through a list of pros and cons real quick:

Pros:
1. 16-bit graphics
2. At least in the top 5 consoles ever made
3. Top-loading design
4. Being a cartridge based system, games work 99.9% percent of the time, and rarely break compared to modern day CDs
5. It has Super Mario World

Cons:
1. Gets discolored easily due to sunlight reacting with the kind of flame retardant used in the plastic.

That's the only con I can think of. Overall, this is one of the best gaming experiences possible. And the low price adds to it. If you are thinking about getting an Xbox 360, PS3or even a Wii for your son, get him one of these instead. You won't regret it.
