  • Pick from more than 15 of the most popular dog breeds, including Labradors, Chihuahuas, beagles and more, then care for and train the puppy using the touch screen and microphone.
  • Pet the pup, acquire and play with more than 100 items like tennis balls, flying discs and even clothing accessories. Teach your dog to do tricks by creating your own personalized voice commands.
  • Train your pups well and compete in obedience and agility trials. Win these competitions to earn cash, which you can use to buy supplies and even more dogs to keep your first puppy company.
  • Walk puppies around the town to meet neighborhood dogs or interact wirelessly with friends' Nintendogs using the innovative Bark Mode.
  • Storyline: Players care for and train their puppy by petting it, walking it and buying it supplies to play with. As a puppy competes in obedience and agility trials, owners can win money to purchase other puppy breeds.
  • Characters: Puppies from the most popular dog breeds, like Chihuahuas, Labrador retrievers, beagles and German shepherds. There will be more than 15 breeds in all, including breeds not featured in the Japanese versions. The pups will vary in gender, coloration and personality.
  • How to progress: Players purchase one of several breeds available at the beginning, then start spending time with their pup. They throw flying discs and balls to improve the pup's agility, bathe it when it gets dirty and use their own personal voice commands to train the dog to do tricks. If players train it well enough, they will excel in obedience and agility trials and disc competitions, which will earn money that they can use to buy other supplies and puppy breeds. When players earn enough cash, they can buy even more puppies to live with their original pup.
  • Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Players can socialize their pups by walking them around the town, where they will meet neighborhood dogs, and maybe even find new toys. Trips to the park and gym offer valuable training time to prepare for agility trials and disc competitions. Over time, the pup's stamina will increase so players can explore farther and farther. Players also can interact wirelessly with their friends' Nintendogs – they can set their DS to bark whenever another puppy is within wireless range.

I love this game because, 1) you get to adopt a cute furry friend, 2) you get to play, walk, feed, bathe and much more with your puppy, 3) It stays a puppy forever! 4) If you have a friend with a nintendo ds and any nintendogs game (doesn't have to be Lab and friends) you can do bark mode and play with your friend's puppy!!!
A disappointment is that your dog can't grow up and have puppies. You can buy a game called Dogz 5 or Catz 5 for your computer and you can have dogs that will have puppies.

    Special Features
Each version of Nintendogs comes with six breeds to choose from, and you can unlock additional breeds by playing with other owners through wireless gameplay; collect and play with a huge array of items such as tennis balls, flying discs and even clothing accessories; compete in obedience and agility trials to earn cash to buy even more dogs; interact wirelessly with friends' Nintendogs using the innovative Bark Mode.

A Great Game For A Child Wanting A Dog

    Created: 27/11/06
I bought my Nephew that I am rasing a Nintendo Ds for his 9th birthday, and this is one of the games he wanted with it because of a game that I got my daughter that is like this except for it is the Dachshund & Friends, but anyway I am glad I got it for him due to the fact that we can't have animals because I am an eBay seller, and a lot of buyers want smoke & pet free items but anyway back to the game this games is about dogs you actually have to play with them, give them baths, feed them, teach them tricks, enter them into contest to win money to buy things with and even give them names which you have to teach them their names it also has few different types of dogs you can pick from. What I think is really great is the fact that these dogs on this game have to be taught, and they respond to the childs voice and pretty much no one elses. It is so cute watching your child on the game trying to teach their dog their names, and seeing them tell the game say sit, and things like that, When I first saw my kids with it, it kind looked silly, and made me, and other family members laughed but I really think this is a great game because my nephew has to get on the game everyday to at least feed dogs he, and my daughter really takes their games to heart. I feel it also can teaches a child some responsibility of owning a pet. This game was money well spent, and I will have to give it 5 S*T*A*R*S* out of 5.

    Nintendogs: BORING!

    Created: 27/03/08
I guess if you live somewhere you can't have a Dog and really want one this is the game for you.
First, you go to the Pound and Pick out the puppy you want. Then you go home and begin training the puppy. You Pick a name and then say the name SEVERAL times into the built-in Mic. in order to get the Puppy to learn its name. You can also teach your new Puppy numerous tricks. Sit, Roll-Over, Spin, Lie Down, Stay, etc.. All of the commands are spoken by the player and recognized by the DS.
You can also enter your Puppy into Obedience, Agility and Flying Disk Catching Contests. You can win money in these events and buy things from the store. Such as, Food, Water, Toys, Shampoo, Brushes, Toys, etc.....
You can also take your Puppy for a walk and Link-up with other Players via the wireless connection so your puppies can play together.
The Graphics are Excellent. The sound could be a bit louder(as usual).
All in All a Good Game. I would rate it a 7.5 out of 10 Stars.
Oh! By The Way my 7 year old Daughter thinks is a GREAT game!

Nintendogs Lab & Friends (DS) is AWESOME!

    Created: 05/08/07
I decided to buy this game for my daughter because she wanted to try it. She saw a lot of other Nintendo DS users playing this game. When I asked her for her comments about this game, she said:

This game is awesome! I love how they included all the colors of the Labs, such as brown, black, and yellow. I love how they have presents for the dogs. I like the fact that I can exchange these presents when I am in bark mode. I enjoy talking to the dogs and I like how they will only recognize my voice. I love the fact that each dog has its own personality.

I dislike that there are different presents for different versions of this game. For example, the Dachshund and Friends game gives you the Mario cart but it is not available on this game.

Overall, I would highly recommend this game to any animal lover or any DS lover!

Nintendogs Lab & Friends (NINTENDO DS)

    Created: 10/06/06
My sons keep asking for this game and I purchased it for him. I wouldn't let them get a real dog so they wanted the game. The game has them feed the dogs keep them clean by giving them a bath and also they can enter them into compititions. They also have to earn money to purchase their dog food and supplies for their dogs. They have a sense of responsibility of having to take care of something. They are now getting a real dog on Monday and are so excited even more now than before they had the game. There was nothing to dislike about the product. All positive to say about it.
