No more diapers... dancing fun!
Created: 09/05/07
I bought the No More Diapers DVD as an aide to introduce my daughter to potty training. She seems to learn well with television influence, so I thought we'd give this one a go. She absolutely loves it! She asks to watch it over and over again, even above her previously favorite DVD. I think she likes the music (not just the main songs, but the background music too) because she is constantly dancing while she watches the thing. She gets excited when the characters get excited, etc. It has encouraged her to want to wear training pants over wanting to wear diapers, but it hasn't magically made her tell me when she wants to use the potty more.
My only complaint is that there is a song about how diapers are great in the beginning. However this turns into the "underpants are great" song later on in the show. And during the sing-a-long songtime at the end of the DVD it does not include the "diapers are great" song, which I was glad about. I don't necessarily mind that it talks about how much Glen loves his diapers in the beginning because I think this does help kids to relate. However, I wish that they had not emphasized it with a song.
Overall, this is a good DVD for young kids beginning to potty train. Older kids may be bored with it. As an adult, it is pretty cheesy, but it's not for me. My daughter loves it! Just be sure to remember that you as the parent are the one doing the training and not the DVD. Don't expect it to be your magical fix for the potty training process. It is a good aid to encourage more excitement and interest in potty training, and an all-around enjoyable DVD for the kiddies. Be prepared to have songs about how "underpants are great" and "wonderous underous pants" stuck in your head!

Grandson loves it

My grandson will be three in a couple months. We waited until now (warm weather) to start potty training so that he can run around in just training pants and a tee shirt while at home or at my house.
He remembers even little details about the story line and very much identifies with the main character.
The day he first saw the DVD was the day he was willing to start potty training. Before that he just wasn't interested. After only eight days of training, he is using the potty on his own, without reminder, about 70% of the time. He is in my home 10 hours a day and he's had only two accidents since we started--and one of those was when he was napping.
We have a regular toddler potty chair, but now he wants to use the adult toilet and flush like the little bear in the story. That's less work for me! I happily went out, like Mama Bear, and bought a little kid toilet seat to attach to ours. :)
I was concerned, too, over the song about the little bear loving his diapers. But it did not adversely affect my grandson's training at all. Instead, he often proudly says as he flushes, "No more diapers!'"

No More Diapers DVD Review

I hate it personally. The voice doing the singing and narrating does not sound good and the story is not realistic. It's about a little bear that one day decides he wants to wear underpants and does without the hard work. Now, my 2 year old loves watching the thing but it hasn't helped him get any more ready to get into and through potty training which was the purpose of buying it.

No More Diapers (2005, DVD)

I bought this product to aide in helping with my potty training efforts. I figured my children would like it because they love watching animated children's shows and had liked other potty training vidoes prior to this one. However, this show did not capture their attention at all. The story line was not very interesting as well as the characters, animation, music, etc.!

My son likes it

I think this is a good potty training aid. Immediately after watching it my son took off his diaper and went to the potty. He copied the bear. It was funny and I was pleased. I would recommend this to someone who has children who imitate what is shown. I do think that the characters were a bit boring. However, what I think really doesn't matter when he used the potty.
