Take for example the photo from the inner booklet of NO SHOES, NO SHIRT, NO PROBLEMS that features contemporary country star Kenny Chesney resplendent in cowboy hat and tie-dye T-shirt emblazoned with a Beatles lyric. That one image tells you a lot about Chesney's music. Though he's got the requisite amount of twang a la his Nashville contemporaries, he has an undeniable pop-rock sensibility as well. You can hear it in everything from the classic pop "whoo-hooh" background vocals on the opening track "Young" to the crunchy guitars on "Live those Songs," which also happens to make reference to Creedence Clearwater Revival, Buddy Holly, and Otis Redding. For those who hadn't already gotten the crossover message, it's hammered home still further by an album-closing (if you don't count the bonus track) take on Bruce Springsteen's TUNNEL OF LOVE ballad "One Step Up."

KENNY ROCKS!!

Created: 04/08/06
I am really no big fan of country music, but when it comes to Kenny Chesney, it's a whole different story! This album (as well as most of his others) are not just country but rock albums (CD's)! As far as country artists go, he is one of my favorites. The title of the CD is my favorite on the CD, but there are many good songs on the CD as well like Big Star.
If you are not a fan of country, give this Kenny Chesney CD a listen to. It will change your mind!

No problems with this one...

If you are ever having just one of those days and need a quck pick-me-up, then pop in this CD and sit back and enjoy. His carefree style and upbeat songs always get me in a good mood. The title track is fantastic and there is not a bad song on the album. Chesney is one of the top performers in the country field right now and many of his songs have a timeless quality.
