Nokia 5310 - Red (Unlocked) Cellular Phone

The Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is a music phone that makes us happy for a number of reasons. This isn't an iPhone competitor, which makes sense, considering the low, $50 price tag. But it is far better than most other so-called music phones on the market, and includes many features that should set the standard. We like the 3.5mm headphone jack, the included 1GB memory card, and the two-stage stereo headphones a microphone. We also liked this phone for regular calling, and found call quality and even its messaging capabilities were surprisingly good. There are phones at four times this price that don't have all these features, and though the phone lacks 3G networking and the accompanying services, when we focused simply on the music abilities, we were happy with what we heard.

Pros: Slim design keeps the dedicated music keys, adds a 3.5mm headphone jack. Surprisingly robust messaging clients.

Cons: No 3G networking means slow Web browsing, no advanced services. Transfer software needs a serious update to bring it in line with iTunes.

Pros: Very compact, can fit in my pocket.
Menu design is very well laid out and easy to understand.
MP3 player is nice, and the buttons on the side make it easy to switch songs.
Buttons are easy to maneuver

Cons: 2 megapixel camera takes about 10 seconds for it to process a picture.
Video is horrible and grainy
I've had mine for nearly 2 years, and every few weeks it will switch off for no apparent reason.
The battery bar will be full and then suddenly drop
Summary: The cons on this little phone are about level with the pros. While it is very functional for making calls/texts or listening to music, the extras (camera, video, games etc...) are below average for a phone. In general, however, I have enjoyed having this phone and hope to have it for a good while longer.

My first unlock phone purchase (tired of the limited options with AT&T locked phones). Relatively inexpensive considering all the useful features. I was looking for a GSM phone with Qwerty keyboard and WiFi, saving $15/month data plan with the WiFi feature of this unlocked phone.

Good: Tons of features, especially Social Networking apps. WiFi, Radio.
Bad: Phone a bit slippery, can easily slip off my hand.

Wish it is a little bigger and has an onscreen Qwerty keyboard.

Other thoughts: can't compare with high end Android phones but don't bother to have an Android phone with AT&T.

Going to buy unlock phones from now on!

Great combination of tri-band unlocked GSM phone, and MP3 player.

You can use any stereo headphones with a 3.5mm plug with this phone to listen to the audio.

Caveats: You cannot use a universal phone headset (earphones + microphone) with this phone. It must be a Nokia type (like the WH-701) -- one that has special circuitry inside that enables it to work with the phone.

Note: Make your your seller includes the battery & charger! Some vendors are not clear about this in their ads.

the price was good and it was just like new as discribed . researched it bid till the last minute and got it plan to use it in as i travel to countries that uase GSM as it is unlocked screen is small is the only thing i did not like but it will be ok for now
