On the Nokia 7370

Created: 03/06/08
My major considerations, when searching for a new phone, are as much in terms of style, practicality and performance,as they are in brandname and appeal.I wanted the Nokia 7370 almost entirely because of its unique swivel design, which sets it apart from any other phone,in addition to its pretty floral designs and faux leather motif which covers the back. But what was priority in my consideration of this phone was the fact that, being a good-performance tri-band and unlocked phone,it could extend its appeal to other countries, where it could be used without any hitches.
However,I am dissatisfied by its mediocre battery life, which I didn't expect coming from a phone carrying the Nokia brandname.Charging is done on almost a daily basis. And inspite of its music-carrying capacity--which,furthermore,is limited by the much despised lack of an expandable memory by use of a SD card--not much can be obtained with confidence from the L'Amour with such a weak battery. And this would include multiple conversations and text messaging, not to mention the e-mail accessibility and IM features. How limiting can that be?I tried enhancing battery life by inserting a 800mAh,without much result.
Some other major cons would include poor video and camera visual. It does, indeed, seem to me that unless backed by a microSD card, video clips are a meagre 6-second long!?Surprisingly, the pictures seem of good quality, which isn't really the impression one gets when viewing before the snapshot. What's more,Nokia blundered in placing the camera lens where the index finger of the user usually is positioned, which makes for difficult handling. However, they compensated for tough self-taken snapshots by providing the metal base which serves as a mirror, and which recent Nokia phones sport for easy self-photoshoots.
Nonetheless, the L'Amour is extremely convenient for someone, like myself, who wants only something which is practical, with stuff that we could use.Talk of a very easy user-friendly interface, good networking performance,FM radio on the go,as well as bluetooth connectivity (too bad,no infrared port,as on the MusicXpress phones, for instance).I'm assuming there would've been somewhat more "originality" to the enhanced features of this phone had I bought it originally, which may have prevented me from dealing with the poor battery life, for example.Without which, the 7370 is the ideal sleek designer phone which is capable of turning heads all the time and still be able to provide you with the features and accessibility that one would desire out of any phone.
Thus,I would render a 'Good" rating, for its style and performance,as well as what it could have had more, only that it had in a lesser measure.

Nokia 7370/7373

I currently own the 7370. The 7370 and the 7373 are basically the same phone. The is one difference which I don't recall. I think it is the amount of memory. But don't quote me on that.

Why I like the phone:

Appearance: Gold/tan/cream or Pink/cream with abstract sketch on metal
faceplate; leather look on back. It also comes in brown or black.
Opening: Swivel to answer call or use phone (swivel tone can be turned off.)
Media: Camera, video, radio (must use headset), mp3
Other features: Voice recording and voice dialing, speaker phone (called loudspeaker) for hands free talking, access to email with paid subscription, games can be downloaded. Organizer includes calculator, calendar, memo, reminders, alarm, countdown timer, currency converter
Phone uses a sim card. I am a T-Mobile customer. I love the phone and have never felt that way about any other cell phone. I can't think of any dislikes.

Something different

Created: 18/10/07
OK this phone first off is extremely tacky it is this horrible golden orange color. The phone looks like a cave wall with inscribes and carvings on it. The camera is horrible reminds me of the v710 from motorola but even worse(can u believe that!?!?!) The phone is a cingular phone I tried it out in a cingular phone store in China Town New York. Horrible Phone don't even waste your time buying it.

Pro: The screen is pretty decent but nuttin spectacular.
Video is better than camera which is kinda weird.(probably because of video ringtones which is pretty cool)

Cons: Everything is bad about the phone.
Crappy stereo speakers
Camera worse than motorola v710
Cool rotating thing to open phone but design and color is horrible.

Short battery life, but otherwise great phone

Created: 14/07/07
The first thing that stands out is the gold front and leather backing. The designs are beautiful and make the phone really stand out.

The FM radio is excellent sound and doesn't use too much battery. It's very simple to use as well.

The phone is smaller than what you would expect once you open it, but I love how large the screen is. Another good thing is the time and options that appear on the screen don't take up much space so you can see more of the background. Having the date is also optional.

Video quality is not that impressive and the memory is not big enough. I wish there was a way to expand it or if it was simply just larger.

One big thing with this phone is cell phone coverage. I went to Kentucky for a week and I had to use my Gophone instead because i could get no bars (Cingular user) Surprisingly here in WV I have much better coverage. Try to make sure your area is covered before buying. Kentucky certainly doesn't seem to be. In hindsight I would go with a quad-band phone, but if you are in the city coverage isn't a issue.

I have printed off pictures through Bluetooth at Rite-Aid and I was surprised how well they turned out on a 4X6 size. It was not amazing quality but good for those pictures you want to keep. I was impressed anyway. Also the pictures on the phone for backgrounds are good quality, better than my Sony Ericsson 520a.

The charger the phone came with is fickle and I have to position the cord a certain way otherwise it will not charge. I don't know if just the charger is bad or what, but something worth noting. I'm waiting on another charger I ordered from itrimming off ebay, perhaps that will work and it is not a problem with the phone.

Don't bother buying the USB data cable unless you have the software to go with it. I have not been able to get it to work on either of my computers, so I'll have find the software to go with it.

I bought this phone because it was unique with the gold and silver plating with engraved designs, the swivel aspect, and the faux leather backing. If you don't mind some problems with reception here and there, its a great phone to get. It's lightweight and easy to use. Comes with two themes only which sucks, but I believe you can download more. Comes with only one game as well.

NOKIA 7370

Created: 11/02/07
The good: The Nokia 7370 has an appealing design with an attractive display. It also offers Bluetooth, a speakerphone, a megapixel camera, and good call quality.

The bad: The Nokia 7370's controls are slippery and the volume is a tad low.

The bottom line: The Nokia 7370 is a decent fashion phone with a good mix of design, features, and performance.
