Nice small wireless 3G router with limited features. The router will allow up to 5 devices to connect to the internet. The unit will get somewhat hot during connection time. The battery usage is very limite about 2-3 hours.

Does not work with Telcel, Mexico as described. Supposed to be unlocked which it is but won't connect. Unable to change firmware. Novatel has crappy support for these devices. The only firmware that won't brick it is the ATT firmware, so there is no way to make it have generic firmware. What a waste of money.

Recommended and a good value, but be aware of a serious limitation

Insert a SIM card - configure the relevant parameters - Connect. (IMO, configuration is not explained well in the manual.)
Works as expected: decent reception and no disconnects.
The device takes about 45 seconds to create the WiFi environment; the color coding is confusing - consider sticking an external label.
The most serious issue: can't charge from USB source and use at the same time. E.g. Charge the MiFi via usb cable from a generic strong (2A) car charger and you lose connection. My solution: a generic USB charger to charge a second battery, which is a good thing to have around anyway ($18 or so).

I absolutly love this little gem. I had an air card b4 it and my hubby and I had to share it....only prob. with that, was we had to wait until the other was finished with it and then plug in to our own PC b4 being able to use it. Now I don't have a problem sharing, we've been married 40 yrs so I have gotten very used to it, but sometimes we need to be on at the same time, and that's where this little gem comes into play. We can use 5 devices all at once and be done at the same time, depending on who can type faster.
It doesn't bother me that I have to stay on ATT service, and it's less expensive per month than the air card was, and I got it on EBAY for an awesome price.....guess it was my lucky day!

The MiFi can't be configured or tethered to a computer that has an operating system greater than Window XP unless you upgrade the firmware. The unit works wonderfully. It came preconfigured for AT&T. The WiFi connection works on all Windows systems and also on Apple computers. I was able to maintain my VPN connection with work on the train from Newark, NJ to Trenton, NJ. It switches towers seamlessly. It has good battery life.
