Objective, Burma

Paratrooper Errol Flynn is ready to fight as he sets out with a
platoon to attack and destroy a Japanese radar outpost in the
Burmese jungle. The Americans reach their target, destroy the
installation and prepare to return to base. However, the Japanese
have recovered and set a trap for the aircraft that are to pick
up the Americans. Flynn (Charge of the Light Brigade, Dive Bomber,
The Sea Hawk, etc) and his fellow troopers then receive orders to
go to a hill hundreds of miles away and await orders there. The
struggle to get to the hill is treacherous with many incidents and
encounters with the enemy. The jungle scenes in this movie are very
realistic and the war action is good. You might look for a small
part played by an up and coming actor at the time, James Brown (The
Blues Brothers, Rocky 4, Miami Vice tv series Season 5 -1987)--who
would become known later for his music to most people. The director
here is Raoul Walsh, who in the 30s-40s-1950s put many hits on the
screen (Battle Cry, Capt. Horatio Hornblower, 1951 edition of The
Enforcer (Humphrey Bogart), etc). A good movie that war movie lovers
will enjoy as well as most classic movie collectors will want. Will
give most people a good nights entertainment-especially if you enjoyed
watching any Errol Flynn movies.

One of the best wartime, action movies ever. A real classic. Errol Flynn is seriously excellent as is the whole cast. Not a comic book action film by any means. It shows the suffering and deprivation of America troops on a dangerous mission in the Jap infested jungles of Burma.

Perhaps the best Hollywood movie about WWII. A great acting job by Errol Flynn and supporting cast. Mixes drama, comedy (yes it has funny parts) and action to make for a wonderful movie. HIGHLY recommended!! I personally have seen just about all WWII movies ever made and this is the BEST.
