Although the band has never completely pulled away from its Christian roots, the record's themes are not blatantly religious, giving the group a remarkably broad appeal, as best evidenced on the guitar-driven title track, a surging power-pop tune, and "Dirty Second Hands," a bold number awash in Beatles-meets-Led Zep grandiosity. While some fans may continue to search for Switchfoot's CCM connections, most listeners will be too busy rocking to notice.

Editorial Reviews
[A] sparkling, focused album bursting at the seams with giant hooks and even bigger ideas.
Alternative Press

[S]urprisingly fun: Switchfoot have vastly expanded their stylistic palette, moving from leaden post-grunge into Stones-like swing... -- Grade: B-
Entertainment Weekly

3.5 stars out of 5 -- OH! GRAVITY is their liveliest record, full of dive-bombing guitar fuzz, juicy arena-alt choruses, and the art-rock ear candy Chris Cornell favored in Soundgarden.

Greatest album!

Created: 04/03/08
I love John Foreman's lyrics and how pertinent they are to society's young people today. The message really gets out about all the horrible issues the world has. The music is amazing and Jerome has a way with the piano like no other alternative band today. I have only recently become a fan of Switchfoot, the first album I bought was "The Beautiful Letdown". After that, I became mesmerized with their music and their powerful words. I saw them in concert for the first time last fall and I was blown away. At the risk of sounding cheesy, my favorite song so far is "Oh! Gravity". My second favorite song is "Dirty Secondhands". I bought the album after seeing the band in concert, then I played it for a week straight. If you are a fan of Switchfoot, for me personally, this is their best album to date. I love when I purchase an album and listen to 95% of the songs all the time.

I absolutely LOVE O!G, there's nothing to dislike about it!! Switchfoot always has the best music!! I bought it because it's Switchfoot, and I'm a huge SF fan!! It has singles like 'Oh! Gravity' and 'Dirty Second Hands'. The foldable cover art is amazing, and the lyrics really have you think!!! I highly recommend buying it!

Switchfoot has never dissapointed me. And this album is no exception. Tracks like Faust, Midas and Myself or Awakening that makes you wonder why are you living for. Take some look to the lyrics, and they'll go deeper than you think ;)

I love the cd. it is a great album and is artistically collaborated. I bought this cd because i love all of switchfoot's music. and i wanted to listen to it in the car as opposed to simply buying over itunes (seeing as I don't have the equipment to play my ipod in my car yet).

it is wonderful!
