) discovered after buying this that olympus fouled the program so that the 2400 recordings could not be sent over the net to a transcription service. only the person handling the recorder can hear, not from the memory card. apparently they made a patch which which was not available to me. My transcription service had a program from the prior model which this replaced which worked after 3 hours time for 2 employees . now I am able to use 2400 just fine but cannot recommend unless you transcribe off of the machine or have the program

I never had the 2300, so my software was from the 2400. It works fine and it is amazes me that I can email my dictation so easily. The speaker for playback on the unit is not real clear.
