) I purchased this camera body used. This is an excellent camera for the advanced novice offering program, aperture, shutter and manual priority modes plus programmed "Art" modes. One can achieve professional results without the expense. I purchased this camera so I could use my amazing Pentax-110 series lenses and off camera flash units. The Pentax lens/Olympus body/Vivatar flash combinations gave outstanding results, blown up to 8X11 on an Epson 300M 6color printer using premium glossy paper. Photography is fun again.

Just needed one for research on some of my new product lines. I sell optical parts for microscope cameras. The camera is quite impressive. This may sound funny but I wish I could also take very low pixel shots on the camera but I believe the lowest you can go is 1 megapixel. Besides that, an excellent product; Very happy.
Great camera with low-mild learning curve for the avg. point-and-shooters!

) There have been plenty of reviews on all aspects of this camera, I just wanted to add in a couple of things. The one potential negative regular DSLR users have pointed out is the clunky/slow settings interface (DSLRs are equipped with buttons and dials galore) but as a non-DSLR user, I am very satisfied with how quick I can change settings. The precision zoom/focusing does, however, get finicky, but only in the AF-MF setting. If you go full manual the precision focus is actually quite nice to use.

Olympus has reinforced its commitment to the Micro Four Thirds platform beyond the enthusiast photographer, with its first model aimed at consumers. The Olympus E-PL1 is the first Micro Four Thirds model to come in under-$600. Although Panasonic has since announced its competing Lumix G10 model, soon to ship at the same price point, that camera is rather bigger, and doesn't offer the same level of portability. The Olympus E-PL1 spars with SLRs like the Rebel XS, Nikon D3000, Pentax K-x, and Sony A230. It also takes on the Canon G11 and Panasonic LX3, among others, as a small camera with potential use as a quality street, or everywhere camera.
