Olympus Tough TG-810 14.0 MP Digital Camera - Black

The camera has a great feature set, moving it out in front of cameras of this size and price. The protection built in (scratch resistant screen, water resist to 30 feet, freeze, crush and shock (6 ft drop), etc. almost precludes the need for a case - put it in your pocket and go! Body is a bit larger than non Tough cameras but not extremely so. Lots of in-camera edit and "filter" capabilities. 14 mp ccd works great for obvious quality shots.

The memory card accepts SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot (Eye-Fi compatible). I bought a class 10 16 gb card-fantastic video and rapid shots.

Summary - this model appears to have all the features and more, with none of the bugs the previous model, TG - 8010, camera.

Can't wait to try while snorkeling on a nice reef.

I have had the camera only a short while but it seems to do all it is designed to do. I say, "Great camera!"

I absolutely LOVE this camera. My only complaints are the weight, but I am getting used to that; and the panoramic feature, which I have not mastered. The pictures it takes are so clear and I love the underwater feature!!! I have purchased more battteries as it does go through them rather quickly. I am sure it has something to do with the GPS feature and why would I not have that on when I am travelling??!! I purchased 2 non Olympus batteries and they do not last as long as the Olympus battery that came with the camera, so I ordered more Olympus batteries. Not sure why this happened.

LOVE the "magic" settngs, especially drawing.

I did speak to someone that has an earlier model and he said to make sure to remember to put it in the water bath after using it underwater!!

So this is the 8th Olympus I have bought from the Tough series. In the line of work I am in, the most important factor is how well it will do slammed against a steel wall, second, how much sand blast grit can be in the air with out making the shutter stick. Wow my workers can practically bury this in the sand, it has been swung from the neck and smashed into 3/4" steel and is still as good as when it came out of the box. I have bought well over 200 cameras in 15 years, that's a lot of cameras, not one has stood the test of time like this one. I would recommend this to any one that's rough, hiking, vacationing, swimming, it will take it, and the pictures come out wonderfully. They have to, as part of the work we do it is ever so important coloring comes out correctly, as we are evaluating steel, and when it rusts, we need the correct color as that will determine how bad the condition is. Get this camera, you will not be disappointed, it is a keeper.

This camera has worked great, above my expectations took it on vacation and snorkeld with it no problems. The photo quality is excellent in and out of the water. I took photos from Humming birds to fish as well as landscapes. Night and day flash also works well.Found it easy to use and the auto settings work great.

Wife uses camara for real estate pictures, likes the ruggedness and good picture quality. I like the fact that if camara gets wet will still take pictures and is shock resistant.
