Oh Olympus WS-321M How Love Thee!
Created: 16/08/08
The Olympus WS-321M has all the horsepower anyone would want for a digital voice recorder and MP3 player all in one tiny package. The unit is easy to use, has the USB plug'n play feature and works extremely well for my needs. It's a top-of-the-line mini machine. I'm glad to have it!

Great Product

I recently lost my WS-311M. How unfortunate...but, a WS-321M was available for even less $$ (on ebay) and twice the memory at 2 GB. Unlike a lot of DVRs, this one is compatible with mp3 files. It has excellent sound quality, an easily mastered interface, and plugs directly into the USB drive of a computer. You can use it like a flash disk if you want. I have used it for music, listening to lectures, recording lectures, and learning a new language. If you transfer the recorded files to your computer, you can edit/modify them with Audacity freeware. 5 stars for the WS-321M all the way.

Good for choir practice and secretary minutes
Created: 09/01/09
I use the recorder when I am a secretary at meetings, taking minutes. Now I can participate more in the meeting because I know I can capture the entire discussion for accurate minute taking. When I sing in the choir I record the practices for new hymns so I can better learn the melody and parts on my own. The stereo quality never seems to distort, in my experience. As a public speaker I can rehearse by reciting my speech into the little machine. Since I also write a column for the local newspaper I find that the WS-321M is great for recording speeches and interviews. Two technical things I also like are the clear visibility of the elapsed time of the recording and the easy-to-see volume meter. I do have to learn to shut the machine off more easily because the little stop button is between the record and playback buttons. I normally download the WMA files to play them back on my computer. I crank the quality up to HQ because I always have a huge amount of memory available. I like it.

Worth the price

I like the products features and sound quality. It is very easy to transfer files from and to computer with a compact built in USB. Music player has a seperate folder for all your favorite songs. Only thing I don't like it was you can't store the recorded files in alphabetical order.
