Album NotesPersonnel: Chris Taylor Brown (vocals, guitar); Ben Kaplan (programming).Audio Mixers: Mike Cashin; Josh Wilbur.Recording information: Charell's Temple, Laguna Hills, CA; The Farm Studios, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; The Warehouse Studio, Vancouver, British Columbia, Cana.Photographer: Paul Rayner-Brown.For their third full-length, Trapt largely stays true to the formula of grunge-influenced alternative metal that launced them to platinum status in the early 2000s. Although Robb Torres took over for original lead guitarist Simon Ormandy, Ormandy's playing is featured here, with a panoply of slicing riffs that perfectly complement vocalist Chris Brown's athletic howl. They returned to post-grunge dynamo producer Garth "GGGarth" Richardson, who produced the California quartet's smash debut. As evidenced on stand-out tracks such as "Wasteland" and "Contagious," the reunion works triumphantly with a drier overall attack that punches through the speaker cones and raps listeners upside the head--in a good way.
