Optoma HD20 DLP Projector

I have a non-working DreamVision DLP 500 home theater projector which I bought 8 years ago for an outrageous price. To replace this old one, I decided to purchase the Optoma HD20 after reading reviews but mostly for the price and the 1080p resolution. I am so astonished by the amazing picture quality in comparison to my previous projector. I cannot believe that I paid 5 times more for the old projector which cannot compare even close to the superior image quality of the Optoma. I can even see projection in plain daylight when before I had to wait till nightfalls. The 1700 Ansi lumens certainly makes a big difference. My only regret is that for the money I paid for the 3 repairments of the old projector I could had purchased the Optoma earlier. I would never again buy a high end expensive projector when the Optoma HD20 can be an excellent choice for its price and image quality.

for the price you are getting the best 1080p projection screen with medium luminosity and a sharp image. customizable keystones and colors for people with non-optomal walls. your image can be projected up to 306 inches diagonal. the Optoma HD20 has 2 HDMI inputs and componet along with standard yellow RCA input. i use mine with my PS3 through HDMI for HD gaming and Bluray movies with my home theater system.
ha, my room mate bragged about his 42 inch sony he got for $1499, i got the 101 inch 1080p screen for $999. lets just say every aspect of the projector beats his little 42 inch... and he's pissed :)

I have had the optoma hd65 for a couple years and loved it. It was just missing that super crisp 1080p resolution. So a couple weeks back I picked up the optoma hd20 and I am in love. This projector puts out amazing 1080p resolution. The only negative I see is the black level are a little low and can look a little blueish in some scenes but for under $1000 this projector is an awesome steal.

This projector is AWESOME! We have a VERY large media room, and the picture is completely huge and very clear. JUST like being in a movie theater. We LOVE this projector!

The image quality is good, but you can tell it is a low cost 1080p projector. The biggest con is the fan noise, it also ramps up and down as it runs and can be very distracting.
