Out of the Woods (DVD, 2005)

This is another great role acted by Ed Asner. He is a dying old man whose family is determined to inherit his money. He decides to buy a cabin in the woods with extensive land and become a hermit. He bonds with the Indians in the area and wants to leave it all to them after his death. His grandson lawyer is sent to visit by request of his mother to have him declared "incompetent". The result is both humorous and heartwarming, as the old man introduces his grandson to the "true meaning of life and love". A++++++++++

Well who doesn't love Ed Asner???? You know, the Mary Tyler Moore show? he was the grumpy old boss. This was very different from that older show. But it was a very unexpected part that I thought Ed would ever play. He is very, very head strong...Has seperated from his family after his wife dies....You will really like this movie, but I don't want to give it all away. You have to watch it your self and you will see what I mean...

I stumbled upon this movie - not knowing anything about it - but found it to be one of the best movies I've ever seen. It said a lot about family - life -love and dying in a dignified way. I highly recommend this flick - esp. good for film discussion groups or for when your parent/grandparent dies.

loved it a good family movie had a good story line and no violence no foul language and ed asner was great in this movie made the story a beleaveable

I rented the movie and loved it. I was very pleased with the promptness of
my eBay purchase. Haven't had time to watch the movie again, but I certainly will and I will recommend it to my friends and family.
