Outrider,Is one of those albums (cd's)that a lot of us seem to have forgotton about, but after Jimmy Page left The Firm, he orginized a great variety of musicians for this one including Robert Plant,Tony Franklin,Jason Bonham,Barrymore Barlow,Chris Farlow and John Miles.
What I like about "Outrider"is that you have 3 instrumentals that are really catchy. Then I have to love "The Only One" which Robert Plant Joins Page for,That maybe your highlight if your the Zeppelin fan you say you are."Hummingbird"is a truely inspired blues tune. The Jimmy Page Production sound is here thoughout the album, just as in "Presence" or "In Through The OutDoor".
A blues fan will be wondering "Why Don't I Already Have This?" Believe in this one, It feels like he could have released it yesterday,There's nothing dated about it.

Outrider - Jimmy Page

Having seen Led Zeppelin in July 1980, I was saddened by the passing of John Bonham, as were millions of others. I knew Robert Plant made music post Zep, but had no idea Jimmy Page was the driving business force behind L.Z. The two put out "No Quarter...Unledded" a cover of L.Z. songs sans the group in 1994 and Page would partner with David Coverdale to produce "Coverdale Page" with some elements of the L.Z. sound in 1993. This album however, is pure blues! I don't care for the second cut, "Wanna Make Love", it seems out of place. Robert Plant provides vocals for "The Only One" which brings back memories. Chris Farlow provides a gritty voice which does well for this album. John's son, Jason Bonham plays drums for 7 of 9 songs and does his namesake justice! All in all, a good album worth checking out.

for any zep fans, guitar fans or blues fans out there. this is an awesome cd although panned by most critics. the 1st half of the cd has a variety of people on it including the likes of robert plant and jason bonham. the 2nd half of the cd is mainly an instrumental blues. for page fans a must own.

Jimmy Page. I think those two words sum it all up. Either you love him or you hate him. No one can deny his impact and innovations in rock and roll. A great CD for a Page fan.

Great blues-sounding product from Jimmy Page. Very underrated body of work. The contributing artists alone are reason enough to warrant attention. There are no bad songs to be found on this album.
