Panasonic ES8243A Cordless Rechargeable Men's Electric Shaver

I bought this because I was unable to get a comfortable shave from a wet razor. When vibro-razors came along I struggled - they certainly gave a good close shave but from a comfort point of view I could only shave every second day. All right if I was on holiday but no good for work days if had to be clean shaven for reasons of etiquette. This Panasonic model appealed because it had the same, top of the range technology as others in the range but it was tied to the cleaning system with all the costs and inconvenience of consumables. This little beauty can be cleaned with a skoosh under the tap and an occasional whoosh with a liquid shower gell. Other features which appealed are the wet / dry operation with or without shaving cream and the quick (1 hour) charge. Also the shaver tells you what percentage of charge is left - 80%. 30% etc. so you are always in control. BUT the MOST important aspect of this shaver is that it shaves your beard as close as a barber shop special leaving you face as smooth a a baby's ass and that's the killer application. Give it a 30-day settling in period and then use it any which way you want - you will come out fresh and smooth and ready for action. A real quality piece of kit - I've been using it for a couple of months now and would not go back to my previous system.

Ive been a wet razor guy my whole life and really hate to shave. Now my head needs a shave too, on top. I dont wet shave my head, too risky, some moles and other things of minor issue, till you shave.
So I read the reviews of a bunch of electric razors and was impressed by the write ups on this one.
I have to admit, this thing kicks butt, now I dont mind shaving at all, kinda look forward to it, I know, hard to believe, but true.
Quick, close, easy to use and clean.
I have a very tough beard so I had to shave after a shower, asap, or its painful.
Now with the Panasonic I can shave anytime, unless Im all sweaty or covered in sunscreen. Then it can come into the shower with me.
Oh, and for you out there that shave your melon, its a breeze, do it anywhere, no need to stand in front of a sink or even be in the bathroom, and is it ever close, really close shave. I am very impressed, this should help all of you that are on the fence about getting an electric razor. Get this one, no regrets.

I have to say this about this particular shaver. I have been using a razor for 40 years and I was reluctant to try this. Well let me say this - It is the best, in fact it shaves (Wet Shave with just soap and water) as close or CLOSER than a razor with the slightest effort! What I really enjoyed is that it did not leave my face stinging, as when I use a razor. This was just with a soaped-up face!

Panasonic has produced another great shaver, it shaves close and quickly, it is easy to use, and it has good features and controls. I have bought a bunch of new ones on Ebay, because eventually Panasonic will discontinue them and so I want to be prepared for that bleak day.

Great Shave. I have several other brands in a dreawer that are not worth using (Braun & Remington & Norelco). The panasonic has a feature the keeps the motor going at high speed until it just stops. The cut is close and clean. If I use it with shave cream and hot water the cut is almost as close as a blade.
Only negative is that the foil needs to be replaced every other year and it can be pricy. I chose to buy a reconditioned razor with a band new foil and blades for only a few $$ more than just a replacement foil.
