Panasonic KX-TG6545B Quint Single Line Phone

I have purchased several phones over the years - always trying to buy the top line products but have been eventually disappointed. I did my research and came up with the Panasonic KX-TG6545B DECT 6.0 phone system - and I couldn't be more pleased! First and foremost the cordless phones all have REGULAR AAA rechargeable batteries (my last one had a special battery that cost me $20 to replace!). Set up was very easy. Important features:

(1) The base unit will take up to SIX cordless handsets (3 styles though 5 come with this system).
(2) All handsets utilize the phone book within the system (don't have to program each phone).
(3) You can add a booster module for extended reach of the cordless handsets.
(4) You can retrieve/listen to answering machine messages, erase, save, etc., from ANY handset (or the base unit, of course).
(5) You can individually name each handset for location (easier for intercom).
(6) Several selections for answering (can be different on each handset).
(7) Each handset has its individual alarm as well - one time only or daily!
(8) Pick up the handset and the large-numbered keys light up.
(9) Large, LCD screen - easy to see.
(10)Did I mention the voice caller ID - yes it actually announces who's calling! (can be turned on/off)
(11)VERY clear reception.

Overall the price I paid was well worth this system. I strongly recommend it to anyone needing multiple functionalities.

I bought this set of cordless phones because my old ones quit working after years of use. I knew that I wanted certain features in whatever phones I bought...such as speakerphone, intercom, caller ID, answering machine, etc. I also knew I needed at least 4 phones in the set. This set gave me everything I needed...and more. I was a little worried about spending so much on a set of phones, especially on a brand that I've never used before, since I've never spent so much on one set before (even though what I paid was cheap compared to other 4 and 5 phone sets I researched, and these had the best ratings), but they have most definitely proven to be worth it, even just in the month that I've had them.

The phones have a nice, sleek look to them, and they are considerably light weight. I like that I can call the house while I'm out and check my messages on my answering machine, as with my old phone, I couldn't do that. I also like that you can check the answering machine from any of the handsets instead of having to be in front of the answering machine to do it. The speakerphone works great, and the sound quality is remarkable. If you miss a call while you're out, you don't have to go searching caller ID to find out, as it will tell you on the display that you have 2 missed calls, or if you have new messages. The caller ID has a nice, big display, so this would especially be helpful to someone that has problems seeing. The talking caller ID is great, as well, and can come in handy when your hands are tied up and you can't get right to the phone. You can personalize each phone's banner to read as you want it to, so it makes it easy to know what phone goes where, or what phone you're paging when using intercom...so instead of 'Handset #3', you can program it to say 'Bedroom'. This is a great feature. You can also assign each handset a different ringtone, which is neat. When you program the date and time on one handset, it updates all of your handsets to the same date and time, and it does the same with your contacts. When you program your contacts, you only have to do it once on one of the handsets, and you can access them from any of the handsets...that's a time and hassle saver. I love the fact that these run off of rechargeable AAA batteries. Before, you could pay as much for a replacement battery as you did for the phone itself, but with this feature, its a money saver. I also love that when the batteries are fully charged, it 'stops' itself from charging even when the phone remains in the cradle. This helps prevent the batteries from burning up. The ECO mode helps preserve battery life, as it automatically senses when your close to a window, and it 'absorbs' energy from the sun.

Panasonic really did put a lot of thought into this phone, and it shows. I am thoroughly enjoying mine, and if I had it to do over, I'd only change one thing...I would have bought them sooner.

needed phones with good large display and liked the option of programming some handsets not to ring at night.The phones have a multitude of functions and are easy to operate, since the base is in our kitchen the little women likes the pusbutton option of the base set with busy kitchen hands at times. Overall a good purchase,yes, we recommend these to our friends.
And yes, all phones have speaker phones built in.

I needed an extra phone for my garage. This product had exactly what I needed kitchen, bedrooms, living room and yes the garage. Have had no problems it has the message machine,capability of storing phone numbers of missed calls and caller ID. Have had no problems and happy with my phones. n

These are great phones! Naturally they're easy to use and you don't have to have them plugged into phone jacks except for the answering machine base. We've had this brand before and had great experience with it. They lasted for several years! We just wanted to update. Would definitely buy again.
