OKay and pretty but missing some features
Created: 10/03/09
It is a beautiful instrument and the voice is clear and without interference. The screen in color is a nice touch and the time on the screen is great. I like the black piano finish. I use the speaker phone most of the time and it works great without clicking and interference.
However, there are a number of important features that are lacking. There are other panasonic phones that have these features.
There is no warning with the battery is about to die.
The biggest frustration I have is that phone does not automatically add a ! when returning a call from caller ID. This means that I have to write the number down and then add the one and dial the number to return the call. Too much work and other panasonic phones do it for much cheaper with the same call clarity.
Do I like them yes?
Would I buy these again? More than likely not.
I hope this helps.
Steve

Panasonic KX-TGA820B 1.9 GHz 1-Line Cordless Handset

This is one of PANASONIC'S newer small and lightweight model Dect 6.0 cordless phones with many usable features. The more time you spend familuarizing yourself with the programing and everyday useage of this attractive little phone, the easier and more enjoyable it will become.
Buy two or three and put one in every room in the home or it will even fit in your pocket if you want to carry it around in or outside of the home.

One of the best phones I've owned
Created: 10/01/09
Pros: all of it, excellent audio
Cons: no wall mount., does not show # of messages
"I have owned a few Panasonic phones in my life. This replaced a set of similar Philips DECT 6.0 (worst phone set ever - maybe that's why Costco dropped it from their line-up). I am used to Panasonic reliability and decided on this set, also for its colour screen. The audio is excellent, even in speakerphone mode. The one and only drawback it has, which I didn't realize pre-purchase, and I don't think it would have changed my mind, is that it doesn't come with a wall mount, and it doesn't show how many messages there are, as well as keep showing how many messages were read but not erased from the answering machine's memory. Also, being black, in a dark room, you have to fumble to find the buttons until they all light up."

Best Cordless Phone = Panasonic KX-TGA820B

This phone has everything you need in a cordless home phone, it is Dect 6.0 and the sound quality is EXCELLENT but if you have DSL (like me) then you'll want to buy a DSL Filter and the extra signal from the internet creates a low amount of noise. The speakerphone feature is nice, it could be louder but its loud enough that you dont have to hold it up to your ear, I believe its a saftey feature for your hearing. This main base unit does have an answering machine built into it, but the beautiful thing is that you can turn that feature completely off. Its a breeze to set up and to use, providing you dont want anything stupid like changable ringtones or wallpaper (this isnt a cell phone).
I rate it a solid 10/10, beautiful job Panasonic.

Good Phone/Small/Gets Smudgy
Created: 10/04/08
I purchased 3 of these phones on eBay. So far, I like the phones. However, it seems to me that the sound quality on this phone is less than I expected from Panasonic (my previous Vtech phone had clearer/louder sound.) I've adjusted the sound on all 3 handsets to as loud as they go and it's still pretty low. Can't listen on the phone and be near another working appliance. There's no "interference" from the appliance, but the sound is just LOW. I'm finally getting used to it. Also the small small handset can slip out from behind the ear easily. Have had some near misses with the phone almost falling into the sink while doing the dishes. Finally, its high shine finish is a total drag. I'm wiping my kids finger and face prints off the phone EVERY DAY. It smudges very easily. You really have to wipe it down after every use. I don't wear make-up, and it still gets that smudgy appearance when I'm done. The small size of the answering system is VERY convenient. It doesn't take up much space. I'd say this phone is OK and it does what it's supposed to, just not as well as expected.
