Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FS5 10.1 MP Digital Camera - Red

First of all I'm not a photographer. I wouldn't even consider myself a hobbyist. I'm a Mom who wanted a camera that was easy to use and fast enough to capture my three year old twins. This one is both. It's exactly what I needed. Straight out of the box and just playing around with it I was able to capture my daughter jumping around (which would have been blurry with my other camera). The pictures are crystal clear. I'm excited to learn more about what this camera can do. I think it's a very sophisticated piece of equipment with a lot of great features and yet if I don't want to fuss with different settings then I know it will still take great point and shoot type pictures. I'm most excited to try the settings for different scenery (beach, snow, night, etc.). It's compact and easy to use. My only regret is that I didn't find this camera years ago. I think of all the moments I missed because my pictures came out blurry with my old camera.

I have has a lot of digital cameras, but of all I love this camera the best. I dropped mine down two flights of stairs & the only damage was that the focus went on the zoom. I immediately bought another one - exactly the same.
It has every setting that you can imagine, but it is also quite easy to use. It takes great movies as well as still photographs; it also has very fast response time & unbelievably long battery life. The Leica lens is wonderfully sharp, the best I've seen on a digital camera.
I take pictures every day & am happier with the results I get with this camera than any other. When this one breaks I shall get the next model Lumix.

I like this camera a lot. I just got the camera and a discharged battery so I was unable to use it immediately. I then ordered an ac/dc charger with 2 batteries for only $15. I was very pleased to find that the camera worked very well at least so far. I also purchased 2 other Panasonic cameras previously and have been happy with them and that is why I purchased this one. The feature that I wanted most was the Wide Screen Format, allowing the display of the pictures on a Wide Screen Monitor and On Home Theater Screen that I have connected to a computer.
I am learning how to use some of the advanced features such as facial recognition and when to use which of the many settings available. So far I like it!

This is a light-weight gem. With the 10.1 meg, it is a little slower than some in taking indoor shots. But, it has all sorts of special settings, like scenery and party. The face finder feature really works. The Leica lens is the best part. The wide angle takes in a lot. The movie feature is good, too. If you want a camera that is rugged, not complicated, and takes great shots, it's this one.

I've had the camera for a couple weeks, and I'm very happy with it. It's easy to use and takes great photos. I'm also very pleased with the videos that i've taken with it.

Not all the pictures come out great. I tried to take photos at night at an amusement park, and those didn't come out that well, but then again, I didn't want to pay for a camera that could handle that demanding a situation! :)

One nice thing is that it starts up very quickly when you turn it on - only takes 2 seconds or so.
One disadvantage is that when you're taking videos you can't zoom in or out.

I definitely recommend it though! :)
