Got the Panasonic pv-7451 as it was described with the remote. Both worked flawlessly and I can now play my vhs-c tapes of my trip to Hawaii in 1991 and 1995. I have also copied them to DVD with my DVD recorder.

Quite pleased with my VCR purchase. Works perfectly as did my old Panasonic PV-7451 VHS until recently.

It's home grade, not studio grade

I have a fairly complex entertainmenet system. The play/record quality of the player is not up to brand new quality. It is refurbed and works but I have to adjust tracking and clean heads, even though the instructions said not to. I duplicate DVDs on to VHS with a video stabilizer. The recording quality has interference on the tape and tracking doesn't eliminate it. I use it daily and will probably purchase another one in the near future.

I have owned a few VCR's since 1981 and the most durable and easiest to operate have been the Panasonics. The PV-7451 is from a generation of VCR's where they have perfected the engineering and operation. I don't like DVD recorders for everyday taping of shows because of their complex menus. fragile discs and short lifespan so a VCR still makes sense.
