Album Notes
Personnel: David Cassidy, Shirley Jones (vocals); Louie Shelton, Dennis Budimir, Tommy Tedesco (guitar); Mike Melvoin, Larry Knechtel (keyboards); Joe Osborne, Max Bennett (bass); Hal Blaine (drums).Recorded at Western Recorders (Studio 2), Los Angeles, California. Includes liner notes by Lisa Sutton.Digitally remastered by Mike Harty (BMG Studios, New York). The first album by the Cowsills-inspired TV-based pre-fab pop group is, as you might expect, the best. Not only does it contain the group's two biggest hits, "I Think I Love You" and "I Can Feel Your Heartbeat," it contains much-beloved album tracks like "Point Me in the Direction of Albuquerque" and "I Really Want To Know You."David Cassidy's chirpy vocals are--despite the singer/actor's insistence for years afterwards that he was in fact a serious rocker--just right for this brand of catchy bubblegum pop. If you're worried about consistency, remember that like the Monkees, the Partridge Family's producers and writers, led by the underrated Tony Romeo, were responsible for a new song for every episode of the series, which means that the albums have plenty of good sweet pop songs. Like the other albums in the Buddha/BMG reissue series, this is completely remastered and handsomely packaged.

The Partridge Family Album

Created: 04/03/10
I have always loved the Partridge Family! Although they were/are a fictional family, they should be real. Their music is one of the best from days gone by. So fresh sounding, clean, and so melodious. The only thing I don't appreciate on this album, was the fact that a few of the songs were not sung by the Partridge Family. Other than that, the music is great!
