The Patriot (Blu-ray Disc, 2007)

The Blu ray version of THE PATRIOT adds considerable visual depth and enhanced sound quality to an already excellent film. This is an extended-cut with added- in scenes that help flesh-out some missing elements. Solid performances from Mel Gibson, the late Heath Ledger, Tom Wilkinson, Chris Cooper & Jason Isaacs add to its appeal. You can especially appreciate the authenticity of the military staging and costuming and the direction from Roland Emmerich. If you haven't seen the film, I suggest viewing the special features first (only 1080i) that reveal the amount of effort that went into the production. Worthy addition to a Blu ray collection!

This is one of Gibson's best performances and Roland Emmerich did a tremendous job directing this film. The movie will make you laugh, cry, and lash out in anger and then rejoice when Gibson gets his revenge (I'm trying not to spoil anything if you haven't seen this yet). Heath Ledger is also very good as Gabriel, Gibsons son. This is a Must-See and regardless how you feel of Ledger or Gibson, you can't deny the first rate performances given by them. I've seen this movie 5-10 times and I like it more every time I watch it.

The patriot is a great movie. The story is set during the Revolutionary War. Gibson goes off to fight the war and tries hard to make his son "Heath Ledger". Change his mind about wanting to join the army to defend his country.

Pros: Gibson and Ledger's acting are solid, good storyline, History is accurate
Cons: Maybe a little to long for some

Overall this is a good movie not much if any profanity unlike like most movies now. The history of this movie is accurate. The movie makes you think about our military and how they go into danger for us.

Gonna keep it short and sweet.

The transfer to Blu-ray is pretty good though not top notch as everyone should know by now that older movies are JUST NOT going to look as good as newer ones.

For the movie itself, it is Great and obviously very Patriotic. From the A-list acting to the, writing, cinematography, etc. etc. This is hands down one of Mel Gibson's best parts and at times its just as good as Braveheart.

I think Mel Gibson directed this action packed movie, which I now have on DVD and BluRay DVD. It's about the revolution in 1776, The British are portrayed as real nasty folks, I doubt they were as bad as the movie shows, but in war who knows.

One of his sons gets killed drawing him into a battle he was trying to avoid at all costs, I really liked this movie and have seen it several times now.
