Movie synopsis

This video is not your typical collection of music videos. Rather than being simply a straightforward presentation of videos, SINGLE VIDEO THEORY also contains footage of the band members recording their album in the studio. The camera captures the actual recording sessions as well as the band members chatting candidly about their concept and ideas for the music. Directed by Mark Pellington, the video also contains previously unreleased videos of the songs "All Those Yesterdays", "Faithfull", "Brain of J.", "Given to Fly", "No Way", "MFC", "Wishlist", "In Hiding", "Low Light", and "Do the Evolution."

Simple DVD

Simple DVD you can't expect any easter eggs or other feature (doesn't even have subtitle and chapter). It's easily a video record from old time that being reformatted as DVD.

But this DVD told the most information of Pearl Jam through their words (by interview), around the time they're making Yield (5th album). Mark Pellington (you heard his name from Pearl Jam's Jeremy video) composed a good collage and images from a studio session. I even think that clip like In Hiding in this video would be standout to be used as music video.

Cameron Crowe sit behind the desk as producer of this first ever Pearl Jam video.

I've always wanted to find this DVD, I 'rented' it from Netflix a while ago, and it is completely AWESOME!!! Always wanted a copy for myself! I Love not only the footage of the members of Pearl Jam recording in the Studio, but also the interviews in-between the footage of them playing. This is the only Pearl Jam DVD that I know of with interviews in it. Of all the Pearl Jam DVDs I own, this one is certainly my most favorite!!! DEFINITELY a MUST for any Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder Fan!!!!!!!!!! INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

great video...the guys from pearl jam give us an intimate view of the making and recording of their '98 album Yield. some proclaim this as their best album to date. svt portrays the chemistry between the band members, you can sense the excitement in the room as they kick out new material.
and they manage to do all of this while look oh so gorgeous.
great tunes and fun to watch!

This is a very well produced glimpse into the life of Pearl Jam at the turn of the century. I've watched it several times and showed it to everyone I've ever played in bands with. It helps one understand how a band is a dynamic entity. The cinematography is great.
