Pearl is the second book in the four book Dakota Treasures series. If you enjoy reading Christian historical fiction, you will mostly like join me in becoming an avid fan of prolific author, Lauraine Snelling. Reading a series of books is always a pleasure for me, because each new book further developes the characters in previous books, as well as introducing new characters. Each
leading character in the Dakota Treasures series bears the name of a precious stone...Ruby, Pearl, Opal, and Amethyst. You will feel like you get to personally know each of these strong young women who settled in the American West in the 1800's.

This is a series by Lauraine Snelling where Four different women are highlighted. She helps you to feel what the women experienced with being in the new frontier. The changes that these Christian women bring to this ruff area are started by Ruby and her sister Opal and continued through Pearl and Amethyst. Could be read out of sequence as enough review of history given in books.
I really like the Dakota series of books, The Red River Valley 9 books are a MUST read.
Before I began reading Lauraine Snellings books I thought I DID NOT have time to read. Now I find minutes to read daily.
She makes her books so that you can smell the flowers, feel the cold and know a passion these characters have without going into any sexually explicit details.
I highly recomend any books that Lauraine Snelling writes.

I really enjoy Lauraine Snelling's work. This is a wonderful series, Ruby, Pearl, Opal and Amethyst. I enjoy reading about women in the 1800's who were bold enough to break out of the mould of most period women. The women portrayed in her work could have truly been women of that period who forged ahead to make a way for women of today. The characters are strong in their beliefs and faith and they always show that Christ is the answer to the problems they face as He is still the answer for us today.

I really like the book and I would recommend it.
The characters are really likeable and you learn alot about how it was in the days of our early settlers.

I bought this book for my wife who has become hooked on anything Laurain Snelling. She always has an inspirational lesson in all of her books. My wife said, that when she writes she knows that she makes God proud. That being the case in this world today, all of us should read her writings.
