Candy colors, great acting! An overall fairytale/love story epic!!!

One of the best movies that I have ever seen! The casting was perfect and it is very unique that such a big name, Reese Witherspoon, would take such a minor/backseat role and it be some of her greatest work.
Ricci, O'Hara and MacAvoy are perfection! You really feel for Penelope (Ricci), you get so curious about Max (MacAvoy) and at times, you want to slap the doting mother (O'Hara). It really is a magical, sweet and uplifting tale woven in the prettiest candy colors that I can remember seeing in a movie.
On par with the fairytale likeness of the superb Stardust starring Claire Danes as a fallen star being hunted by witches, princes and a young peasant boy in love.
In my opinion, Penelope is a movie for all ages. Grandparents, parents and kids will all enjoy this movie repeatedly! Trust me on this, as I've seen the moive countless times and I NEVER tire of it. Sure to become one of those classics that everyone will know and love. :)

I bought this movie because it's one of those kinds that just make you feel great! Although I think everyone will feel sorry for Penelope in the first half of the movie, it really gives a good message about confidence and self-love, but on the other hand lets be real, if anyone in this day and age had a pig nose like Penelope's (and couldn't fix it) I think that person would be teased and looked at just the same, especially in our society today! But because this is a fantasy/comedy movie, it fits well and sends out all the right messages. Oh and I just have to add, Ricci played Penelope amazingly. Acting was superb.

Charming Modern Fairytale

The movie was adorable. It was very well done and the chemistry on set was amazing. The typical fairytale was shattered and made into a beautiful piece of self-love.
The reason I bought this film was for the fantastic acting in it. James McAvoy is making his own way in cinema and performed beautifully. Christina Ricci has tossed away the Addams Family Wednesday act for a clearly gorgeous Penelope.
Would recommend this to anyone wanting a well done, feel good movie.

I love this movie! At first I wasn't interested in seeing this movie at all; however, after watching it at a friends house I fell in love with it. It's so cute with such a nice story. James McAvoy, Christina Ricci, and Reese Witherspoon are absolutely perfect in each role! I would recommend everyone of all ages to see this movie!

I really enjoyed this movie for what it was.... a modern day Fairy Tale. This is a movie that can be enjoyed by BOTH young and old. Christina Ricci & James McEvoy really made you feel for their characters. As a matter of fact, ALL the casting seemed PERFECT for this movie. BUY IT & WATCH IT with your children or not! I HIGHLY recommend it!
