Peter Gabriel - Secret World Live (DVD, 2003)

This particular concert is one of the finest concerts that Peter Gabriel has ever done. It show the expert talent of the band members that make his music live for all of us. My favorite being Tony Levin, one of the finest Bassist in the world, give a commanding performance in this concert. (what are those "things" he wears on his fingers?)From the opening song, to the end, this concert is the finest of the fine for Peter Gabriel. The song "Steam" always makes me want to dance, while "Blood of Eden" always makes me cry. I was hurled on an emotional roller coaster from start to finish with this DVD.

The only thing I dislike about this DVD is the resolution is grainy , especially on my big screen HDTV.They have attempted to resolve this, but it still isn't up to par with the current technology of HD filming that has raised the standard for concert DVD's. A slight disappointment, but this one remains one of my all time favorites.

I was expecting more of a raw concert than the stage show set to Lip Synched music. The concert sounds great, but a little too perfect. Think of it as a British play set to the music of Peter Gabriel. I don't know if the original concert was lip synched or it was done in post production, but it is defintely there and it leaves the DVD viewer feeling cheated. If you want to just listen to the songs as they come off the CD, they are here. The real secret to "Secret World Live" is that it really isn't live at all.

Pretty disappointed. This is the remastered 2003 edition. Had read that it is better than the first DVD release. In fact, it suffers from all the same faults as what I read about the first DVD release. The video is of poor quality, and the audio is, well, horrible. Inexplicable increases and decreases in volume, and it often seems that Paula Cole's microphone is shut off. Most songs, the only thing that seems to come across with any clarity is Peter's voice. Having been an avid fan of the CD version of this concert, I can only say that the DVD is definaty a let down. The "sneak peek" of the Growing Up tour is not a plus if you already own that DVD, as I do. Hopefully, Real World will get hold of Secret World Live and give it the true high- def remix it deserves. The Secret World Live Tour was a true testament of Peter Gabriel's skills as a performer and song writer. It is a shame that this so called remastered edition is does not live up to the high standards Gabriel sets for himself and what his fans have come to expect.

solid dvd from the seller. great concert to anyone who likes pg. not super clear in clarity like todays bluray players but this concert was put on dvd in the 90's. but the music is great with the stage presence of the band like no other concert i have ever been to.

i got what i was expecting , easy to buy and at a great price
and hoping to do business in the near future, i am a fan of live concerts and when it comes to great artists like peter gabriel i dont hasetate.
