Review of Canon Ink Cartridge Purchase
Created: 09/03/11
Having a new canon MX340 copier, I purchased a remanufactured PG-210XL Black Ink Cartridge because the price was so much lower than the Canon OEM original replacements. I took a chance and it was a mistake. The black ink leaks out of the ink cartridge and the printer does not recognize the replacement as being full of ink.
Lessons learned. I would not purchase a remanufactured ink cartridge again.
It is better to pay more for a quality product.

Works great, priced right ,will come back!
I bought the PG-210 XL Black Ink Cartridge three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the quality of cartridge. I could not find one in the regular store, and in another one it was way much I would spent on a cartridge. My only complaint is that I forgot to take a protective layer from it, so I had to put my glasses on to figured that out before I install it successfully in the printer. Overall, I recommend the PG-210 XL Black Ink Cartridge

It's hard to rate the product. I got originally 1 color & 1 black )PG-210 & PG 211) ink cartridges. The color one was fine but the black one ran out just printing 10 pages. I called the company & they did replace the black cartridge. However, when I put the replacement into my printer, it didn't show "full" and I am now waiting to see if it going to run out after a small amount of printing.

Message to Canon:
Installed new Black PG210 Ink Cartridge when I received a message that the black ink was low. I can't get your software to reset & recognize the new black cartridge. It still says the black ink is low. I go to your manual and can't find anything about how to let your software know a new ink cartridge has been installed. Come on people, this is frustrating. It prints, but I can't clear the message and that is not right! If you are going to aggrivate the customer, I'll make sure not to get a Canon Printer next time around! Is that what you want? Give the customer a little credit & good tools to resolve this type of issue. I should not have to be sending you this message. This problem would already have been resolved. Okay Canon, what do you have to say for yourself? Ticked off ...
Canon's Response ...
I am sorry to hear that your MP280 is not recognizing the new black ink tank being installed. Usually when it does not recognize the new ink tank being installed is because either the original ink tank that you replaced was simply low and not out. Meaning that the ink tank still had ink left in it. The
printer and inks have an ink counter that lets the printer know how much
ink is left in it. Therefore if replaced prematurely then yes it is
still reading the ink level of the old ink tank. The other reason is
that it will not detect the new ink tank is if you are using third party
ink tank in place of the Canon ink tank. There is a chip on the ink
tank that lets the printer know when a new ink tank is replaced. You
can try to press and hold the STOP Button for ten seconds to see if that
will work. If not then kindly respond back to this email for further instructions.
As you can see, it could be an Ink Cartridge problem or a Canon Printer software problem, but the bottom line is a headache for the customer.
Eventually I will get this matter resolved. But for what it is worth,
my Kodak ESP3250 printer is working fine and accepts all Ebay's Cartridge refills 10B & 10C. So if you have a Canon MP280 you may want to switch over
to a Kodak printer. How do you like them apples Canon ?

didn't buy this -Why eBay asks me to write review?
Created: 04/03/11
I have not purchased this item, nor will I EVER buy a cartridge again, unless I have to because the one I have no longer works.
I don't know why eBay is asking me to review this, as I never purchased it.
I refill ALL my printer ink cartridges with purchased bulk ink, and bypass the manufacturers roadblocks to doing so effectively. Then, and only then, are inkjet printers worth buying.
