About the Manufacturer
Engineer and inventor Karsten Solheim got his start as an engineer working for GE in Ithaca, New York. His passion for the game set him on a journey to create a better putter. At the time he thought he was simply building it for his own personal use, but in 1959, Karsten’s ongoing garage experiments yielded an innovative putter he called 1A design. This putter had very distinctive design qualities, among them, a unique tone at impact, a sound that would echo throughout the game for generations to come…“Ping.” The Anser putter began a long and proud history of truly innovative equipment design throughout Ping’s entire product line (ultimately resulting in over 400 patents) that has set Ping at the top of the list of golf design and manufacturing companies. The company is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Karsten Solheim has passed away and his son John has taken the helm.

The Ping HL series of G2 irons really fits the bill..the sole is wide and shaped and the club is very forgiving..I purchased the 2 iron and before I got this club I could never hit a 2 iron.
Owning this club changed all that...
I strongly reccomend the Ping G2 HL series of irons..by the way..the "HL'..stands for High Launch..so the shots fly higher and land softer.

) I am a lady golfer, competitive but no longer a long hitter. All my clubs are Ping G5. Recently I've joined a golf club where even the rough can be very tight, a big headed wood just bounces off the hard ground and can't get into the uneven and equally hard packed rough. I found more and more I wanted to use my irons but the G5 only goes to 5-iron. I finally found this G2 4-iron with graphite shaft on e-bay, paid the postage from USA, but it has been worth it, it plays long and straighter than a wood. Am hunting for a 3-iron now - hope Ping are reading this, Ladies don't only want to play with woods, even Rescue woods!
Ping is an excellent club with a great reputation.

This iron compliments the entire set of Ping clubs I own. It has helped to improve my golf game by giving me more distance on my drives. It is made of the finest materials. I would recommend Ping clubs to anyone who wishes to improve their image and score.

) If you are more of a traditionalist and do not like the looks of todays hybrids, the Ping HL golf iron just may be the club for you to substitute for your 3 and 4 iron. It is easy to get the ball in the air and comes with plenty of distance! Much easier to hit than todays long irons.
