About the Manufacturer
Engineer and inventor Karsten Solheim got his start as an engineer working for GE in Ithaca, New York. His passion for the game set him on a journey to create a better putter. At the time he thought he was simply building it for his own personal use, but in 1959, Karsten’s ongoing garage experiments yielded an innovative putter he called 1A design. This putter had very distinctive design qualities, among them, a unique tone at impact, a sound that would echo throughout the game for generations to come…“Ping.” The Anser putter began a long and proud history of truly innovative equipment design throughout Ping’s entire product line (ultimately resulting in over 400 patents) that has set Ping at the top of the list of golf design and manufacturing companies. The company is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Karsten Solheim has passed away and his son John has taken the helm.

I bought the Ping I15 3w and 5w because I was so pleased with the I15 driver that I purchased earlier. I was looking to move to a regular flex shaft from a stiff. Regular flex shafts have always felt a little unstable to me in the past. The UST Mayima Shaft on these clubs was recommended to me and I am not an expert on that but I seem to have gained a lot of yards with this switch. These are beautiful woods. I like the look of the smaller head. To be fair these are not designed for a lot of forgiveness so if you’re looking for a game improvement club, perhaps the G15 might be a better option. These are set as I understand a bit open so if you tend to slice the ball that may aggregate it. I am really pleased with all the I15 products that I am playing now.

I like that it a 14 degree loft, the shaft matches my driver and the club looks decent. I dont like how it was said that the club was used for one round, looks like at least 20 rounds, and is in close to mint condition, the grip is wore down. Ive played golf for 10 years a 5 handicap and never seen these type of marks on a wood. Looks like it was hit with rocks or pebbles, honestly id rather had payed alittle more for a new club with the correct head cover and not a g5 head cover. For the most part the scratches shouldnt have an effect on the ball flight so Im happy. Just have to buy a new head cover and change the grip.

This is a great club. I have always played ping clubs and this is just another top of the line product. I am hitting it 20 yards farther than any club I have ever hit. I am a low ball hitter, but not with this club.

i15 Fairway not as expected

I am a solid 6 handicap and I currently use the Tilteist 909 fairways and so far they are one of the easiest fairways woods I have owned. Since I played Ping for 15 years or more I am always on the lookout for a new Ping product that could displace my Titleist clubs.
So, I purchased a Ping 5-wood, 18.5 degree to test. I have hit the i15 driver and I really liked it, so I thought I would try the fairways before I change my equipment. Well the first two games with the Ping i15 have been disappointing. (Was cold outside however) Nice solid feel, but too low of a ball flight for me. Maybe the stock Ping stiff shaft is too stiff for me. I use the Titleist Diamana in stiff and the ball flight in the 909's is perfect.
With the colder weather approaching, I may not get another chance to really test the Ping fairway, but will update this review when I do.

Sprind 2011 - Finally, golf season is here. I have now played the Ping i15, 3-wood, 5-wood, and 23 deg hybrid and each time I play them I like them more. Bit lower ball flight than the Titleist 909 series I played last year but also a bit longer. Easy to work both ways. The club head also seems to be a bit more stable on off center hits which I really like. Maybe a bit lower torque rating, not sure. Not as consistant yet as the Titleist. With the 909's I just stepped up and hit it, never had to worry about left or right, always straight. Ping's are just a bit more difficult, but I can work them easier. Golfers, we are never satisfied with just straight.
