Ping Redwood Anser 303 Stainless Putter
Created: 01/01/10
I started playing golf with a Ping Anser 2 putter and after a few years upgraded to a Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport that I would have thought would be the end of my putter buying days (I was still never able to get rid of that Ping). I went into a local golf shop and they had a used Redwood in pretty bad shape that I would not have considered buying. I putted with it a bit and it felt great. I had a particularly hard time replacing the Scotty but after playing just one round with the redwood there was no question what I was gonna use from here on out. The Redwood has such a true feel to it, and will truly make you a more consistent putter. I have played several rounds with this putter now and have no regrets. I would rate this putter a 10/10 in every field.

I use a ping anser 85020. I need to make a change. I have used a redwood putter on a borrow basis, and I like it much better than my old ping, which surprised me. I have a dalehead putter also, and a 1-A, and another 50 ping putters. I like this redwood putter. thank you william796

The feel at impact is soft and crisp. The black satin appearance is super sexy and clean. This is the best putter Ping has made. The only fault is the lack of variable head weights for different lengths, and the velcro on the headcover that can scratch the putter head over time. I like this putter as much as my Camerons.

Redwood like the tree--it stands alone

The Ping Redwood is pricey--but try it and you will see why.
The Ping Anser is a legendary putter, but the redwood ups the notch a bit.
The Putter is a little heavier than a regular Anser and that weight helps
keep the ball on line.
The Putter is very stable and rarely twists. The feedback is good as well,
it you don't hit it in the sweetspot you know it---but you can still make
the putt.
Best putter i've ever tried or used. Better than Cameron or Odyssey.

I am a fan of Ping putter. I am constantly trying odysseys and scottys but it seems I always get back to PING, don't judge me :-) I used to own scotty cameron studio select newport 2 putter recently, I liked it very much better than any other scottys I tried. Currently I got this ping redwood anser 34" and odyssey blak series No 1. I love both putters.
The bid difference I see is the feel on Redwood. I always try to feel the putter head, I believe you too, I can feel the speed and the swing of the redwood a lot better than any other ones I tried.
I am a lot better in 10-foot-and-out putting. I can get the speed right. A couple of stroke off of my scorecard, yay!
